  • Patent number: 8177366
Abstract: A stereoscopic image projection system using a circular polarization filter module is provided. Even though this system uses a single projector, it allows left and right images to have different polarization directions using the circular polarization filter module, thereby reducing crosstalk compared to an LCD-shutter-based system.

  • Patent number: 8144274
Abstract: A parallax-barrier comprises a Liquid-Crystal layer (LC layer) including pixels that form a barrier according to a control method. A controller controls the pixels of the LC layer to form a barrier pattern, by turning pixels on or off according to the control method. A lower layer is formed between the LC layer and a display module to dispose the LC layer and controller at a position off the display module by a predetermined distance. An upper layer is formed on the LC layer to dispose the LC layer and controller, and a polarizer on the upper layer, and visualizing the barrier according to the barrier pattern on the LC layer by controlling polarization angle of the light. The light passes through the lower layer, LC layer and upper layer. Stereoscopic images that are rotated in the horizontal/vertical direction can be displayed using the parallax-barrier and stereoscopic image.

  • Publication number: 20110063419
Abstract: The present invention relates to a stereoscopic image generation chip for a mobile equipment and method for displaying a stereoscopic image using the same. The present invention displays a stereoscopic image using a stereoscopic image generation chip loaded in a mobile equipment. In particular, the present invention performs storage/image processing by connecting taken left and right images by side-by-side scheme instead of performing storage/image processing by synthesizing the taken left and right images directly and alternately and is then able to enhance a quality of a displayed stereoscopic image in a displaying step via a synthesizing step, in which the left and right images of the stereoscopic image generation chip are alternately arranged. Moreover, the present invention enables a general 2D image to be 3-dimensionally displayed via the above stereoscopic image generation chip.
