  • Patent number: 5662642
Abstract: An instillator having a medicator-connecting mouth into which a medication that cannot be subjected to sterilization may be introduced by a simple operation and in a germ-free condition so that the medication is mixed with a pharmaceutical liquid contained therein, said instillator being composed of an outlet member, a medicator-connecting mouth and a body, said medicator-connecting mouth comprising a communicating pathway which communicates with the inside of the body upon use, a germ-trapping filter disposed in the middle of said communicating pathway, a sealing means for sealing said communicating pathway disposed between said germ-trapping filter and said body, and a connecting means disposed at one end of said communicating pathway opposite to the body, the body made of a flexible material being filled with a pharmaceutical liquid, sealed and subjected to autoclaved sterilization, the connecting port of the instillator having a connecting duct tightly fitted into the port.

  • Patent number: 5509898
Abstract: A therapeutic container is provided for use in a closed therapy system. The therapeutic container is a flexible container that has suspending means, that is divided into a first compartment and a second compartment by an isolation zone, that has an outlet member provided with an openable communication passage which permits communication between the first and second compartments, and that optionally has a second openable communication passage at a location proximal to the end of the container on the side of the suspending means, whereby both the contents of the first and the second compartments can be discharged through the outlet member at a constant mixing ratio while mixing them together.

  • Patent number: 5126175
Abstract: This invention relates to a container for medical solution comprising a port portion (12), a shoulder portion (13) and a flat body portion (14), and is characterized in that side peripheral areas (15) and tail end peripheral area (16) are welded by a sealer (101). This configuration allows the container to flatten as the contained medical solution drains, thus the solution is completely drained and does not remain in the container. The same advantage can be expected when the wall thickness of the container in the side peripheral areas (15) and the tail end peripheral area (16) are made to be thinner than one in the central area of the body portion instead of welding the side peripheral area (15) or the tail end peripheral area (16).

  • Patent number: 5114004
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a filled and sealed, self-contained mixing container. The container has compartments which are isolated from each other. Plural substances which contain components susceptible to mutual reaction unless isolated from each other are contained in the respective compartments. In use, these compartments are communicated together so that the individual contents can be mixed within the container. A flow passage or passages, each of which has an isolator for the contents and is adapted to communicate the compartments with each other, and is formed by a side channel provided on an outer surface of a wall of the container. Mixing of the contents without exposure to the external atmosphere can be realized by irreversible destruction of the isolator upon use. The container is suited particularly for a closed therapy system.

  • Patent number: 4836691
Abstract: A medical bag and method of manufacturing the bag from a thermoplastic resin by irradiating a ferromagnetic heating element which has been prepositioned between the mouth and receiving portions of the bag and which is caused to generate high frequence-induced heat. During subjection of the heating element to a high frequency magnetic field, the mouth portion and receiving portion of the bag melt about the element so that mouth portion, element and receiving portion are bonded together. This technique can also be suitably used for thermoplastic resins, for example, polyolefin resins, to which conventional high-frequency bonding cannot be applied.
