Patents Assigned to Materiels Equipements Graphiques
  • Patent number: 5758841
Abstract: The present invention relates to a spindle capable of being inserted into a core (1) on which a material in strip form, in particular paper, is wound into a roll. This spindle comprises a shaft (8) connected to a braking device (7), a tubular jaw holder (9) that is rotatable with the shaft, jaws (12) housed in longitudinal slots (13) provided in the jaw holder, elastic members (14) bringing the jaws into engagement with the inner surface of the core (1) when the spindle is inserted into the latter, and complementary clamping means (21) for reinforcing the action of the elastic members (14) on the jaws (12) at the time of braking, acceleration or deceleration of the roll (2), the core (1) of which is borne on the spindle. The present invention also relates to a machine for winding and/or unwinding a material in strip form, the spindles of which are of the structure defined hereabove.

  • Patent number: 5557861
Abstract: Device for drying a material in strip form (1), in particular paper in strip form, including on a frame (2) two series (S.sub.1, S.sub.2) of drying nozzles (3), delimiting in a plane (P) a corridor for the passage of the material in strip form over a path (T), each of the series of drying nozzles being located in a plane (P.sub.1, P.sub.2) substantially parallel to the plane (P), the drying nozzles being perpendicular to the path of the material, each nozzle comprising at least one narrow, longitudinal slit (4) suitable for allowing a drying gas (5), for example air, to flow therethrough; blocking means are provided for selectively neutralizing a plurality of areas (6) of at least one slit; these means are constituted by at least one comb element (7) positioned in the slit, the comb element comprising a base (8) placed inside the slit and teeth (9) flush with the surface of the slit, the teeth being separated by gaps (10) between which flows the gas escaping through the slit.

  • Patent number: 4763851
Abstract: Reel unwinder (6, 7) for ensuring the continuous supply of an endless web (21), comprising, on a stand (25 to 28), two spindles (4, 5) for two reels, one in course of being unwound and the other, after the removal of the residue of used-up reel, receiving a full reel, means of maintaining a suitable web tension (9, 10, 11), means acting on its spindle to accelerate the full reel to the linear unwinding speed, the end of the full reel receiving the strip of adhesive, means of laying the web from the nearly used-up reel onto the full reel in order to effect bonding between the webs, and knives (17, 18) for cutting the web coming from the used-up reel.
