Abstract: A connector (6) includes a device (11) for securing it to a bulkhead or panel (14) of an enclosure. The device comprises a steel retaining clip (11) which is pushed over each jackpost (9) of the connector (6) and engages in a slot (10). the clip retains the connector (6) against the bulkhead (14) while a mating connector is attached, without the need for any nut and bolt arrangement or bulkhead fixing screws.
Abstract: A transparent latch, having a signal input D, an output Q and a control input C for selecting one of two operating modes, functions by either allowing the output to follow the input (in an enable mode) or by blocking any subsequent changes in input signal level (in an inhibit mode). Owing to the design of the latch, relative propagation delays through gates and interconnecting wires cannot cause a wrong value to be latched, this being in contrast with known arrangements. Therefore constraints on the physical layout of the latch are removed. In one embodiment the latch comprises two pairs of NAND gates (5,6,7,8) each pair being connected in a feedback configuration.
Abstract: A combined duplexer/mixer (2) for use with FMCW radar systems has a waveguide section (12,13) containing a fin-line structure (17,18) for responding to the linearly polarized radar return signal while permitting passage of the orthogonally polarized transmitted signal (T). A portion of the transmitted signal is extracted by a patch antenna (22), this extracted signal forming a local oscillator signal for mixing with the return.
