Abstract: A seat cushion mold with an elastic member and method provide the manufacture of an improved seat cushion for use in upholstered chairs or the like having a smooth, uniform shape without unsightly underlines. A thick, resilient foam block is positioned on a rigid planer base and is urged into the mold whereby a thin foam cover layer is adhered to the outer edges of the planar base to produce a precisely contoured cushion which can be upholstered and fitted to a chair frame.

Abstract: A furniture seat spring assembly is presented which allows simplicity and economical seating for chairs, sofas or the like. The spring assembly comprises a U-shaped base having an eccentrically positioned coil spring which is covered with an elastic webbing. The eccentric position of the spring allows the user's weight to depress the webbing without "feeling" the coil spring which is positioned near the seat frame front rail. Multiple assemblies are positioned at selected intervals within conventional seat frames, depending on the particular frame size used.

Abstract: A seat construction for upholstered furniture is presented and a method of forming the same and includes a rectangular frame with webbing attached in the form of lateral strips positioned across the frame. Spaced therebelow are webbing strips which are positioned longitudinally along the frame. When a person uses the seat, the upper webbing strips allow maximum stretching and contact the second webbing strips, which are less stretchable and more supportive, to provide a luxurious feel and maximum comfort.

Abstract: A furniture elastic webbing is provided for use on sofa frames or the like to support seat and back cushions. The elastic webbing has a unique structure which provides controlled longitudinal stretch to support heavy loads such as the body weight of several adults simultaneously. The elastic webbing is warp knit by conventional methods with an inlaid, strong, durable control yarn generally walewise along each elastomeric yarn therein.
