Patents Assigned to Matsuo Electric Company Limited
  • Patent number: 8000086
Abstract: A capacitor element having an upper surface, a lower surface, a first end surface and a second end surface is coated with a cathode layer, except for the first end surface. Anode lead extends out from the first end surface. An anode terminal has a first portion located close to and beneath the lower surface of the capacitor element and has a second portion connected to the anode lead via an arcuate connector. A cathode terminal is disposed under the lower surface of the capacitor element, being spaced from the first portion of the anode terminal. A packaging resin covers the capacitor element, the anode terminal and the cathode terminal. A depression is formed in the anode terminal, which extends from a portion of the anode terminal facing the lower surface of the capacitor element to the inner edge of the anode terminal facing the cathode terminal.

  • Patent number: 6467142
Abstract: A terminal frame including plural pairs of terminal sections arranged in rows and columns is prepared. Each pair includes a flat anode terminal section and a flat cathode terminal section disposed in the same plane with their tip ends being spaced from and facing each other. Plural capacitor elements are prepared. Each capacitor element has a cathode layer on substantially entire outer surface thereof, and a tantalum lead. The capacitor elements are placed on the frame. The tantalum lead of each capacitor element is coupled to one major surface of the anode terminal section of one pair of terminal sections, with the cathode layer of that capacitor element coupled to one major surface of the cathode terminal section of the same pair.

  • Patent number: 6262878
Abstract: A capacitor element has on its outer surface a cathode layer with a flat bottom surface, and also a tantalum lead extending outward from its one end. One of opposing major surfaces of a flat cathode terminal is located beneath and in parallel with the bottom surface of the cathode layer. They are electrically connected with each other. One of opposing major surfaces of a flat anode terminal is located substantially in the same plane as the one major surface of the cathode terminal and is electrically connected to the tantalum lead of the capacitor element. The capacitor element, the anode terminal and the cathode terminal are encapsulated with portions of the other major surfaces of the cathode and anode terminals left exposed.

  • Patent number: 4377404
Abstract: This invention relates to a manufacturing method and a hermetic glass-to-metal seal suitable for a component in an electric circuit such as a liquid tantalum electrolytic capacitor. The method comprises the steps of fusing a raw material glass in order to form a glass tube; setting a bead, obtained by cutting the glass tube across the axis, in the opening to be sealed, for example, the opening of a member which forms a circuit component; and heating the assembly of the members which composes the circuit component including the bead, above the melting temperature of the bead, with a longitudinal conductor piercing through the bead. This simplified method of manufacturing a hermetic glass-to-metal seal accomplishes a perfect sealing since the sealing glass includes no undesirable impurities such as binder, and since the thermal expansion coefficient of the sealing glass is close to that of the metals used to construct the circuit components, and the sealing glass is stable to electrolyte.

  • Patent number: 4223786
Abstract: This invention involves forming a series of electronic components wherein each component has a pair of coplanar conductors extending therefrom which were formed from a metal strip and then severed therefrom after attachment of a component therebetween with at least one of said conductors having an enlarged portion of said strip remaining at its free end so that the pairs of component conductors when positioned between a pair of adhesive strips to hold the components in spaced relationship with at least said enlarged portion between the strips they will be securely retained thereby.
