  • Patent number: 4677397
Abstract: A quartz crystal oscillator having a resonator leaf with electrode film for electrical conduction. The oscillator includes a semiconductor element which oscillates the resonator leaf. Lead terminals have a first end which are integrally molded to the semiconductor element by a resin and second ends which support the resonator leaf.

  • Patent number: 4288284
Abstract: A quartz crystal oscillator package comprising a quartz crystal vibrator leaf enclosed in an evacuated housing. The vibrator leaf frame is sandwiched and sealed between a pair of housing elements formed by etching at one time the periphery of each housing element and at another time etching a concave portion in each housing element. Opposed concave portions provide the internal volume wherein the vibrator leaf is sealed under vacuum. Using heat and vacuum, a metal film deposited on the sealing surfaces of the housing elements fuses with a binder material to form a eutectic alloy seal. A flat package having small size, high structural strength, an excellent hermetic seal, and high internal vacuum is produced by this method.

  • Patent number: 4282498
Abstract: A circuit package wherein a framed resonator leaf is mounted in a recessed portion of a plastic body. The contours of the recess orient and support the resonator frame, and an electrically conductive adhesive both bonds the resonator frame to the body and electrically connects the resonator to lead electrodes embedded in the body. A circuit chip element electrically connected to the lead electrodes is also embedded in the body to provide an integral circuit package. A cover over the recess, bonded to the body, protects the resonator element. Welded connections and a resonator mounting plate are not used.

  • Patent number: 4176030
Abstract: A quartz crystal tuning fork vibrator having thin conductive film side electrodes and a method of forming same is provided. The quartz crystal vibrator is provided with identically configured electrodes on both planar surfaces of the tuning fork tines with the electrodes being peripherally positioned along the respective lengthwise extents of the tines on both planar surfaces with thin conductive film electrodes being disposed on the lengthwise side surfaces of the tines in order to electrically couple the like configured electrodes peripherally disposed on the planar surfaces to each other. The quartz crystal plate and the electrodes formed on the opposed planar surfaces of the tines are formed by photo-etching, whereafter the planar surfaces are masked and a thin conductive film is sputtered on the lengthwise edges to form the electrodes on the side surfaces.
