  • Patent number: 7057135
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a microstructure, which includes at least one feature having a dimension less than 200 nm, on a work piece. Pulses of UV laser light having a duration of less than about 1 ps and a peak wavelength of less than about 380 nm are generated. These pulses of UV laser light are focused to a substantially diffraction limited beam spot within a target area of the work piece. The fluence of this substantially diffraction limited beam spot in the target area of the work piece is controlled such that the diameter of the section of the target area machined by one of the pulses of UV laser light is less than 200 nm.

  • Patent number: 7057910
Abstract: In a semiconductor device for generating complementary PWM signals for, for example, controlling an inverter, a dead time is flexibly added by using a simple architecture. A dead time addition unit adds time elapsing until a value of a timer reaches a set value of a register as a first dead time at a rise of a first PWM signal. On the other hand, time elapsing until the value of the timer reaches a set value of another register is added as a second dead time at a rise of a second PWM signal.

  • Patent number: 7058507
Abstract: A navigation system, which can determine a place suitable for meeting as a meeting place, is disclosed. This navigation system obtains positional information of mobile units, and extracts candidates for a meeting place from adequate meeting places registered in advance. The navigation system automatically selects or a user manually selects one place from the extracted candidates, and determines the selected one as the meeting place. The navigation system transmits the information about the meeting place to the other mobile units, so that the mobile units can meet each other at the right meeting place free from any place-caused inconvenience.

  • Patent number: 7057343
Abstract: A plasma display panel is provided, in which a false discharge between adjacent discharge cells is prevented, and generation of an address discharge between a scanning electrode and a data electrode is ensured, thereby enabling the panel to display a quality picture. A discharge cell includes a recess in a dielectric layer that overlaps a display electrode consisting of a scanning electrode and a sustain electrode, wherein a dimension where the recess overlaps the scanning electrode is made larger than a dimension where the recess overlaps the sustain electrode. A discharge area is restricted within the recess for preventing a false discharge to occur between adjacent discharge cells, thereby stabilizing address discharge between the scanning electrode and a data electrode.

  • Patent number: 7057855
Abstract: A head slider has, on its front face opposing a disk, a positive pressure generating section and a negative pressure generating recess, and a sloped face slopping toward the air outlet side. By virtue of the sloped face, the negative pressure hindering with high-speed unloading operation of the head slider can be decreased quickly. Thus, at the time of unloading, an additional load is not necessary for the suspension, and the stroke of the suspension for raising the head slider can be shortened. Therefore, a disk drive which is thinner, smaller, and capable of high recording density can be realized.

  • Publication number: 20060115962
Abstract: The inventive method for manufacturing a semiconductor device is a method for manufacturing a semiconductor device using irradiation with laser light to partition a substrate having semiconductor layers formed thereon, with gallium contained in at least one of the substrate and the semiconductor layers, wherein the method comprises: forming grooves to be used as boundaries between individual substrates by irradiating the substrate along partitioning locations with laser light, immersing the substrate into an acid solution, and partitioning the substrate into individual substrates along the boundaries where grooves are formed. In this manner, it provides a method for manufacturing a semiconductor device in which, during the partitioning of a gallium-containing semiconductor device substrate, deposits of gallium compounds adhered during laser irradiation are removed, partitioning surfaces are formed flat and uniform, and the incidence of electrode continuity failures and resin peeling is low.

Abstract: Of two bearings supporting a rotor of a circuit-integrated type core-equipped brushless motor, a part of an outer periphery of the bearing, which is disposed at a position near a stator core, is allowed to directly abut on an inner periphery of a hole formed in a center of the stator core, and therefore, reduction in thickness, reduction in diameter, space-saving and enhancement in output power can be realized. The stator core is fixed to the casing by causing projected parts provided at the housing to bite into second notched parts formed inside first notched parts formed at the stator core and crimping them, whereby the problem of a decrease in a winding space accompanying reduction in a diameter of the stator core is solved, and reduction in thickness, reduction in diameter, space-saving and enhancement in output power are achieved.

  • Publication number: 20060117111
Abstract: A communication system enabling significant reduction in delay in handover between MAPs without increasing the number of MAPs to install. In the communication system, MAP(101) issues a Router Advertisement to AR(111) to AR(118). Particularly, MAP(101) assigns a plurality of Router Advertisements of a source of care-of address (RCOA) to register with HA to AR(118) of a cell on either side of a boundary of areas for each MAP. MN(107) receives a Router Advertisement transmitted from AR that is a communicating party among AR(119) to AR(126), and using the Router Advertisement, generates care-of addresses, RCOA and LCOA. AR(111) to AR(118) transmit the Router Advertisement RA generated by MAP(101) to MN in communication. Further, AR(111) to AR(118) transmit the care-or-addresses, RCOA and LCOA, issued from MN(107) to MAP(101).
