  • Patent number: 6881122
Abstract: A toy vehicle comprises a lift mechanism which allows the toy vehicle to be lifted from a supporting surface in a lifting motion. The lift mechanism includes a rotary member which engages a lifting lever hingedly attached to a chassis of the toy vehicle. In operation, the rotary member is abruptly moved by a biasing member into engagement with the lifting lever. The rotary member moves the lifting lever into an extended position, causing the lifting lever to engage the supporting surface, to lift the toy. The toy vehicle includes features to help permit operation of the lift mechanism only when the toy vehicle is in a proper operational condition.

  • Patent number: 6868964
Abstract: A mailer package formed from a single sheet of foldable stock material includes a compartment formed by first and second parallel panels joined together by first and second parallel sides. The sides extend along opposing edges of the panels. The compartment has opposing first and second open ends, with a number of tabs sufficient to cover and close each open end. A cover extends from an edge between one of the sides and panels. The cover has a closure flap with a tearable pull tab and is foldable between a closed position overlying a panel or side adjacent to the edge from which it extends, and an open position folded away from the compartment. The cover is releasably secured in the closed position by attachment of the closure flap to another panel or side. The secured cover is moveable to the open position with release of the pull tab.

  • Patent number: 6854547
Abstract: A toy vehicle comprising a frame, a first wheel, a second wheel, and a turning mechanism including a rotatable arm mounted to the frame and a rotatable third wheel mounted to the arm. The arm is rotatable between a retracted position and an extended position, wherein, in the extended position, the third wheel contacts the surface and lifts one of the first and second wheels off of the surface. The third wheel then rotates to rotate the vehicle about a remaining one of the first and second wheels in contact with the surface. The vehicle further comprises a motor mounted on the frame. The motor is operatively associated with one of wheels to propel the vehicle and with the turning mechanism to lift and turn the vehicle. The toy vehicle is controlled with a remote control unit which is shaped like a remote-vehicle-entry key chain.

  • Patent number: 6848968
Abstract: A communication scheme is employed for transmitting control signals from a remote control to a toy vehicle. The remote control includes control switches, an encoder and a transmitter and the toy vehicle includes a receiver, a decoder and actuators for controlling the operation of the toy vehicle in accordance with received control signals. The encoder generates a continuous stream of control signal packets with each of the packets including a predetermined number of biphase encoded bits. Each biphase encoded bit is of the same predetermined width with a 50% duty cycle, including two transmit elements. For one binary state, both of the transmit elements are the same and for the other binary state both of the transmit elements are opposite. Each packet includes a first predetermined number of flag bits, a second predetermined number of data bits and at least one checksum bit.

  • Patent number: 6838537
Abstract: The invention is directed to resin coating, adhesive, and cement compositions comprising styrenic copolymers and a solvent comprised of a terpene and certain high evaporation rate organic solvents. The high evaporation rate terpene co-solvents reduce the drying times of applied coatings and enhance the character of the ultimately applied coating in the formation of high adhesion bonding with molded elastomeric styrene copolymer surface substrates. The invention is also directed to a method of applying the instant coatings to substrate surfaces.
