  • Patent number: 4314336
Abstract: A portable electronic card game simulator having a housing mounting a display and input keys and containing electronic data processing circuitry organized to provide, at various skill levels, the automatic play of a hand of Gin Rummy, Go Draw, or Thirty-Three, in opposition to an operator. The simulator deals a hand to the operator and to the electronic opponent. The play of the electronic opponent is controlled by circuitry to simulate the play of a human in accordance with the rules of the game. The display includes indicia representing each of the cards in a single deck of cards. These indicia are used to display either the operator's hand, the opponent's hand, or the score of the game.

  • Patent number: 4306716
Abstract: An electronic amusement apparatus having control electronics selectively energizing one or more of the segments of an array of illuminatable segments, with a unitary light control member having an array of portions in overlying relation with each of the segments. Each portion may be identically configured with the exit ends of all portions being in generally planar relation adjacent a transparent or diffused viewing surface. Each portion includes a peripheral wall defining a tapered aperture with the exit end of the aperture configured to provide the visual appearance of a desired object on the viewing surface. Light rays from the illuminated segment pass through the entrance end of the aperture and are internally reflected by the tapered walls toward the exit end while simultaneously light from the segment passes through the peripheral wall to provide a sharply defined edge for the viewed object.

  • Patent number: 4300770
Abstract: An electrical board game is disclosed which includes a track described on a foldable game board and having starting and finishing points and dividing into multiple parallel paths at various points along the track. The players moves a players piece along one of the multiple paths and the game detects which path was chosen by the use of electrically conductive circuitry on the board in conjunction with a conductive players piece. The game includes the ability of the players to randomly designate which of the parallel paths are safe and which are danger through the use of conductive switching elements placed on the game board in a physical orientation which determines the designation of the paths. An electronic sound generator is provided which is placed on the board and electrically responds to the players choice of path and the designation of that path, and generates either a safe or a danger sound.

  • Patent number: 4299049
Abstract: A toy which generates bubbles and shapes those bubbles into a recognizable form. The toy has a unique pump mechanism which injects air under pressure into a stream of liquid soap then forces the aerated stream through a screen to break up the stream into a multiplicity of bubbles. A removable shaper is arranged at the exit for bubbles from the pump mechanism. The shaper has an exterior which is the incomplete shape of an object recognizable to a child and a series of conduits which conduct the bubbles into porisions in which they complete the recognizable form.

  • Patent number: 4299548
Abstract: A toy casting machine including a base which has mounted thereon a crucible into which plastic materials may be placed for melting. The crucible is rotatably mounted to a sidewall and may be duped by an actuating mechanism which also moves a predesigned mold into position below the crucible. The crucible and machinery are entirely covered by transparent material to allow viewing the operation and to protect a child operating the machine. An isolating loading apparatus is provided to allow the machine to be loaded with raw material and molds without endangering the operator.

  • Patent number: 4296926
Abstract: A hand-held electronic game of skill. First and second columns of LED's display the positions and movements of the piece indicia of respective first and second players between respective starting and finishing positions. During the first state of a stop/go indicator, the manipulation of either of two player input switches causes the piece indicium displayed on the respective column to advance toward its finishing position. During the second state of the stop/go indicator, the manipulation of either of the two player input switches causes the piece indicium displayed on the respective column to be returned to its starting position. The first and second states of the stop/go indicator are established alternately, and continue for periods the durations of which vary randomly between predetermined minimum and maximum values.

  • Patent number: 4291884
Abstract: A game construction including a game board having a plurality of positions to be occupied by playing pieces belonging to different players, the positions during a path to be followed from a start to a finish. The game has a number of different identifiable playing pieces which are molded from a pliable material. Various ones of the positions are identified with the different ones of the playing pieces, and a piece landing on a position identified as that of another player is flattened by the owner of the space. The degree of flattening caused is measured to determine later movements of the piece on the game board.

  • Patent number: 4291663
Abstract: A machine for throwing a ball with a cylindrical aperture. The machine comprises an arrangement for mounting a rod which carries the ball and which is rotatably mounted to fall from an initial vertical position to a selected angular position after a preselected period. At the selected angular position, a spring drive projects the ball through the air. In a preferred embodiment the ball, which may be of any type, is projected with a spiral motion.

  • Patent number: 4288537
Abstract: A toy for playing a number of different games having a housing containing a sound generating circuit and a number of removable game boards providing connections to the circuit. A laminate path affixed to the board and a probe provide means for connecting a resistor to the circuit and for carrying the value of resistor to change the frequency of the sound generated. In specific embodiments the path is broken so that a graphite path defined by a pencil may connect the parts of the circuit. The path is included in each of the games as a key to the play thereof.
