  • Patent number: 11209328
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for measuring the electrode force on welding tongs. The welding tongs have a first electrode arm with a first electrode and a second electrode arm with a second electrode, said second electrode arm lying opposite the first electrode arm. At least one workpiece is clamped between the electrodes during the welding process. The aim of the invention is to provide a method for measuring the electrode force, said method providing an improved signal quality. The method has the following steps: a) measuring a first force acting on the first electrode, b) measuring a second force acting on the second electrode, and c) adding the measured first force and the measured second force, wherein an electrode force signal transmitted from the welding point to the electrodes is amplified, and an interference force signal introduced into the at least one workpiece from the outside and transmitted to the electrodes is eliminated.

  • Patent number: 9579770
Abstract: A system for grinding solid workpieces includes a grinding wheel, a bearing for rotatable mounting of the grinding wheel about an axis of rotation, and a grinding wheel drive for rotating the grinding wheel. The system allows the production of freely-definable surfaces on the face of the rigid workpiece that comes into contact with the grinding wheel. The bearing is fastened to a pivotable and displaceable bearing carrier. The bearing plane is pivotable in any desired direction with respect to an initial plane and is displaceable in a direction perpendicular to the initial plane. Actuators are coupled to the bearing carrier to pivot and displace the bearing carrier. A digital control unit controls and synchronizes the actuators such that the surface of the grinding wheel creates a freely-definable face about a positionally fixed reference point which is at a radial distance from the center point of the grinding wheel.

  • Patent number: 9573237
Abstract: A system for grinding workpieces includes a grinding wheel, a first support for rotatably supporting the grinding wheel about a first rotational axis, and a grinding wheel drive for rotating the grinding wheel. The first support can be rotated about a second rotational axis using a support rotating device, the first rotational axis being inclined relative to the second rotational axis such that the grinding wheel lies diagonally against the surface of the workpiece and grinds a substantially conical surface on the workpiece while rotating about the second rotational axis when the workpiece contacts the grinding wheel surface at a distance from the second rotational axis. A position adjusting device may move the first support along the second rotational axis. The angle of inclination between the first rotational axis and the second rotational axis may be adjusted using an inclination adjusting device.

  • Patent number: 6914440
Abstract: A welding system having a welding gun, comprising a casing that is grounded through a ground conductor, and a monitoring device, which detects the resistance of the ground conductor. A blanking device deactivates the monitoring device during the welding operation to reduce the danger of shut-downs through the ground integrity monitor. It is proposed to either deactivate the measuring circuit of the ground integrity monitor or to switch off the welding power interruption associated therewith as long as a welding current may flow or is flowing through the ground conductor. The monitoring device is deactivated or blanked out only for an essentially negligible fraction of the entire time, and there is no danger of any impairment of safety due to this short-term deactivation.

Two welding electrodes are connected at the secondary side to the welding transformer and are each arranged on a respective control arm, one of the arms being movable by an actuating drive. A control and regulating arrangement is connected on the primary side between the welding transformer and a connection to a three-phase network. The control and regulating arrangement has a rectifier circuit connected to all three phases of the network and a controllable welding inverter for converting the rectified voltage into voltage pulses of alternating polarity at a predetermined frequency. At least one electronic component of the rectifier circuit and/or the welding inverter is connected to the drive for moving one of the control arms, for controlling and/or powering the drive.

  • Patent number: 6072146
Abstract: A resistance welding device having a welding current source, a control and/or regulating device for regulating the welding current, and at least one set of interchangeable welding guns on which welding electrodes are mounted in such fashion that they can be pressed toward one another to hold sheets to be welded between them. The interchangeable welding guns contain a local data storage memory located on the welding guns for storing data specific to the operation of the welding guns, and a data interface which can interact with a second data interface located on the control and/or regulating device. When the set of welding guns in attached to the welding device, the two data interfaces are connected thereby permitting the specific operating data for the welding guns to be transmitted to the program memory of control and/or regulating device.
