Abstract: The invention relates to "insemination guns" comprising an elongate body (1) at the front end of which is fixed an insemination tube (10) ("paillette") and within which is slidingly mounted an ejection rod for ejecting the tube, while an air supply is connected by an air flow passage to the tube (10) at the front end (5a) of the body.The problem posed is to provide such an apparatus which is easy to manipulate and simple to maintain.According to the present invention, the ejection rod (6) has at least one flat (16) cooperating with the circular section wall of the conduit (5) in which the ejection rod is mounted to define the air flow passage (17) beside the ejection rod (6) in the conduit.The invention is especially applicable to inseminating turkeys.

Abstract: The invention concerns sleeves for protection against internal contaminations for a gynaecological gun for animals of the type comprising a tubular body, a chamber for storing the product to be injected or aspirated, and ejecting or aspirating means (7) operative through the front end of the body. The problem is to avoid contaminations through the medium of the gun between the vagina and the uterus of the animal.According to the invention, such a sleeve comprises a cylindrical element (13) of flexible and thin material and having an end (13c) which is closed in a sealed manner but is tearable, the length of the sleeve approximately corresponding to the length of the whole of the gun, two substantially parallel slits (16) being provided in the vicinity of the end (13a) opposed to the closed end.The invention is advantageous in the artificial insemination of bovines.

Abstract: This device is of the type comprising a hollow cylindrical body for receiving at one end a semen reservoir-tube with which are associated means for maintaining the reservoir-tube on the body. Also provided in the body is a slidably mounted plunger-rod which projects from the end of the body opposed to the reservoir-tube. This plunger-rod is adapted to expel semen contained in the reservoir-tube, the plunger-rod cooperating with means for advancing the plunger-rod in a step-by-step manner and actuated by a periodic actuating means.The step-by-step advancing means comprise an advancing element which is provided with an aperture and is mounted with a small clearance on the plunger-rod.
