  • Patent number: 8823392
Abstract: A system and method for controlling an impedance tuner system. In one embodiment, a web-enabled electronic controller controls an impedance tuner system including a signal transmission line and an electronically-controllable impedance-varying system coupled to the signal transmission line for affecting the impedance presented by the signal transmission line. The controller has a communication port, and an electronic processor configured to process external command signals and generate electronic control signals to configure the impedance-varying system in response to the command signals. An electronic memory stores sets of data and one or more web pages. The controller has a communication server and is configured to receive or send signals through a communication channel from or to a client computer system. The communication server is configured to be responsive to a request message from a client computer system to send a response comprising a web page to the client computer system.

  • Patent number: 8794113
Abstract: Exemplary embodiments of a torque ring or nut system for use on or with RF and microwave male/female paired coaxial connectors, to apply a pre-set torque value to the mated coaxial connector pair. The torque system includes an inner ring structure and an outer ring structure configured for rotation relative to each other. Rotation of the outer ring structure applies a torque to the inner ring structure.

  • Publication number: 20130321092
Abstract: An impedance tuner system that uses at least one passive tuner and at least one active tuner to control one or more impedances at a reference plane or planes. Each of the at least one active tuners operates at a target frequency at which the impedance is to be controlled. The passive tuner is set to a passive tuner target impedance before active tuners are set to their target impedances.

  • Patent number: 8416030
Abstract: An impedance tuner may include a shunt stub located at a fixed location along the transmission media, and a phase shifter to control the reflection phase. Another embodiment includes an adjustable length shunt stub connected on the transmission media, a variable phase shifter connected between the DUT port and the adjustable length shunt stub, a probe arranged for movement in a direction transverse to the direction of signal propagation. Another embodiment includes a reflection magnitude control system mounted in a fixed position relative to a direction of signal propagation along the transmission media, and a phase shifter to control a reflection phase.

  • Patent number: 6210221
Abstract: A versatile quick connect/disconnect coaxial 3.5 mm male connector which can be used to mate with unmodified standard SMA, 2.92 mm, and 3.5 mm female connectors with or without the use of a threaded nut. The connector employs simple construction and achieves excellent electrical performance. The connector allows the user the option of a push to engage and pull to disengage operating feature, plus the additional option to connect using a threaded nut with reduced thread engagement, which can be hand tightened or torqued to a specific value. The threaded nut is retractable and is held clear of the mating area for push/pull operation, and due to the minimum number of threads, the nut can be coupled and uncoupled in one third to one fourth the time needed to thread a conventional nut.

  • Patent number: 5910754
Abstract: A slotted line tuner, also capable of operation as a fully automated tuner, to provide arbitrary termination in high frequency waveguide media for use with frequencies of interest between 1 and 1000 GHz is disclosed. The electrical tuner is adapted to match the impedance of two waveguide media, or enhance or modify the characteristic impedance of a media relative to that of another one. The tuner utilizes a non-conductive rectangular bar vane made out of low loss, low dielectric constant material as the probe, with special gold plated areas, that is inserted through the slot of the line into a reduced height waveguide. The position and depth of this gradual probe penetration creates a continuously variable tuning of the complex impedance, ranging from a very low reflection state up to high reflection states together with an unlimited capability of phase change in its reflection.
