Abstract: A modular vapor-tight light fixture is provided herein which generally includes first and second vapor-tight light modules, and a coupling for connecting the first and second vapor-tight light modules. Each of the vapor-tight light modules includes: a channel housing; a lens secured to the channel housing; a plurality of solid state light generating elements; and, first and second end caps. Each of the channel housings includes first and second rails which each define a mounting channel. The coupling includes mounting strip portions configured such that, with the first and second vapor-tight light modules being adjacent, the mounting strip portions are simultaneously received in the mounting channels of both the first and second vapor-tight light modules. Advantageously, with the subject invention, fully enclosed vapor-tight light modules may be provided at shorter lengths which are connected by the coupling to provide a fixture comparable in length to prior-art vapor-tight light fixtures.
Abstract: A security light assembly that is mountable to a junction box and connectable to a power source via electrical cable comprises a housing comprising a base and a cover having a lens and a window portion. A sub-assembly comprises a first bracket attached to the base, a second bracket attached to the first bracket at a first location and selectively moveable about the first location between at least a first position and at least a second position that is different from the first position. When in the first position, the second bracket at least partially obstructs access to an access port, and when in the second position the second bracket does not at least partially obstruct access to the access port to enable connection of the electrical cable to the connection in the housing.
Abstract: In a first aspect of the subject invention, a solid state HID canopy light fixture retrofit assembly is provided which includes: an inner panel; and, a plurality of edge members perimetrically bounding the inner panel. Each of the edge members includes: a first edge panel secured to the inner panel; a downwardly angled second edge panel depending from the first panel; and, a flange extending from the second edge panel. The first and second edge panels are each sized sufficiently to support thereon at least one board containing a plurality of solid state light generating elements. The inner panel and the edge members collectively define a contained volume sized to accommodate at least one driver for electrically powering the solid state light generating elements. The subject invention provides an assembly which is readily useable to retrofit HID canopy light fixtures from ballasted HID lighting to non-ballasted solid state lighting.
Abstract: A LED light fixture is provided herein for mounting into a troffer housing. The light fixture includes a carrier plate dimensioned to fit within the troffer housing, the carrier plate having a generally flat first portion, a generally flat second portion, and an outwardly indented portion located therebetween. The first and second portions are generally coplanar in a common plane. At least one LED is mounted to the first portion. A driver is electrically coupled to the at least one LED and disposed within the indented portion without extending through the common plane with the driver being fixed to the carrier plate. At least two lead wires are electrically coupled to the driver, and extending therefrom, configured to allow electrical power to pass therethrough to the driver. Advantageously, a LED light fixture is provided herein which is a unitary construction that can be efficiently mounted in a troffer housing.
Abstract: A dimming control and driver for an LED luminaire comprises a shutdown relay connected between an AC source and the driver circuit. The shutdown relay will close above a predetermined control voltage, and will open below the predetermined voltage. The shutdown relay will eliminate parasitic loss by turning the power completely off when the LED luminaire is turned off.
