  • Patent number: 10892752
Abstract: A sensor system for protecting movable objects, in particular motor-driven doors or flaps, having at least one capacitive sensor and having at least one control unit. The control unit is designed to generate a transmission signal for the capacitive sensor and to evaluate a first reception signal therefrom. At least one further electrode is provided, wherein the capacitive sensor and the further electrode are movable relative to one another. The control unit has an evaluation arrangement which evaluates a second reception signal from the further electrode, and the evaluation arrangement is designed to derive an item of information relating to the distance between the capacitive sensor and the further electrode from the second reception signal.

  • Patent number: 10247580
Abstract: A circuit for evaluating measurement signals of at least one sensor with a control circuit. A control signal having a first frequency is generated by a control section of the control circuit, and the control signal is applied to the sensor. An electronic evaluation unit is provided for generating an evaluation signal originating from a measurement signal generated by the sensor. The electronic evaluation unit generates an opposing signal having the first frequency and a modifiable phase angle and superposes the opposing signal and the evaluation signal. The signal resulting from the superposition of the opposing signal and the evaluation signal is fed to a synchronous demodulator of the electronic evaluation unit.

  • Patent number: 6769358
Abstract: A method is described for manufacturing an item of underwear or an item of sportswear by applying a medium, running in lengths and strengthening the fabric of the item of clothing, on to a cut-out piece of material, wherein application of the medium is done by the silk screen printing method or the adhesive coating method and in a first step of the method the printed length is structured in such a way that it substantially corresponds to the later outer contour of the item of clothing and in a second step of the method the printed fabric is cut in the area of the printed length.

  • Patent number: 5920521
Abstract: An ultrasound area surveillance system has a plurality of ultrasonic transducer units, each of which is designed for directional radiation of an ultrasonic wave field and for the reception of reflected ultrasonic waves. An analysis device analyzes the reflected ultrasonic waves received by the ultrasonic transducer units to detect objects situated within a predeterminable surveillance area. The ultrasonic transducer units are arranged closely adjacently, with their radiation directions extending outwardly in a fan-shaped manner. The transducer units may be arranged, for example, in a semicircular array, in two planes situated above one another.

  • Patent number: 5689250
Abstract: The invention provides a process and apparatus for the detection of obstacles by means of ultrasound waves having an enhanced ability to distinguish between echoes caused by obstacles and those caused by interference signals. Ultrasound pulses are emitted by an ultrasound transmitter unit, and are received by an associated ultrasound receiver unit. (A plurality of such transmitters and receives may also be used.) Ultrasound echoes detected by the receiver units are used to form echograms in which detected echoes are projected. The echogram thus measured is used to generate an analysis echogram, based on information contained in the measured echograms. In particular, the most recent analysis echogram is modified depending on the size and location of echoes contained in the measured echogram. Signals contained in the analysis echogram are then compared with predetermined threshold values to distinguish between echoes reflected from obstacles and echoes due to interference.

  • Patent number: 5512716
Abstract: A switching pad or plate having electroinsulating flat bodies arranged essentially in parallel to one another, to which at least one current-conducting contact path is assigned which has disconnecting switches disposed in series and are actuated by pressure on one of the flat bodies. Contact pins are assigned to the disconnecting switches which contact pins subjected to spring force, rest against the contact path by a contact head. The contact pins are firmly connected at the end facing away from the contact head with one of the flat bodies and each contact pin is movably held in a guide which is formed by an insulating flat body.

  • Patent number: 5167432
Abstract: Safety bumpers provide flexible strips for making contact inside a hollow space in a foamed body. It is suggested to carry out the making of contact by way of a closed switching strip which is mounted in a hollow space bordered by a frame preferably designed as a U-profile. An elastic pressure strip having webs extending transversely with respect to the switching strip is assigned to this switching strip. As a result, making of contact is ensured in the case of an arrangement which is not susceptible to pollution and humidity influences and which also permits a pre-assembling.

  • Patent number: 4773155
Abstract: The mat switch consists of two oppositely located, mutually movable and electrically conductible contact surfaces (1, 2), separated by electrically-insulated spacers (3), elastically deformable in vertical direction with respect to the contact surfaces (1, 2) and defining contact windows (4) between them. In the area of the contact windows (4), on at least one of the contact surfaces (1, 2), there are contact bosses (5) projecting towards the opposite contact surface (1, 2), whereby the distance between the contact bosses (5) and the oppositely located contact surface (1, 2), respectively the opposite contact bosses, is not bigger than the range of spring of the spacers (3), when the mat switch is not under load. The contact bosses (5) can consist of bulges in a foil forming the contact surfaces (1, 2).

  • Patent number: 4171410
Abstract: An open-cell synthetic-resin foam body is placed in a fluidized bed of conductive metallic particles having a particle size many times smaller than the cell size of the foam. The particles completely permeate the body and adhere to all of the strands thereof. Thereafter the body is vibrated to free from it particles not directly contacting its strands. The thus coated body is then simultaneously pressed and heated so as to reduce its thickness by a factor of at least two and permanently compress it, thereby forcing all of the particles into good contact with each other for good electrical conductivity.
