Abstract: A bearing assembly having coaxial inner and outer bearing races, a plurality of rolling elements which ride in respective raceways in the inner and outer races, and annular sealing elements interposed between the inner and outer races for defining annular lubricant containing chambers on opposed axial sides of the rolling elements. For facilitating circulation of lubricant between moving parts during use of the bearing, the outer bearing race is formed with lands which extend axially outwardly of the raceway with a slight radially inwardly directed taper relative to the bearing axis. In some embodiments, the tapered lands are formed with a convexly curved contour.
Abstract: A switch assembly having switch contacts located in a lower housing component and having a movable actuator located in an upper housing component and extending downwardly into the lower housing component through a sealing gasket located between the two housing components. The gasket prevents liquid spilled into the upper housing component from leaking into the lower housing component and shorting out the switch contacts. Drain openings are formed in the upper housing component and prevent the liquid from rising to a level where the liquid could leak past the sealing gasket. The actuator includes a manually operable button which is shaped to direct spilled liquid toward the drain openings. In addition, fin-like portions of the gasket extend beneath the drain openings to deflect the discharged liquid away from the outer side of the switch assembly.
Abstract: A safety switch assembly for an electrical appliance to prevent the appliance from being operated unless its door is fully closed and latched. The switch assembly includes a first switch activated by a pivoted lever and a second switch activated by a slidable block carried by the lever. The lever and the block are sequentially moved to switch-activating positions as the latch of the appliance moves to a fully latched position.
Abstract: An electrical toggle switch with self-contained indicating devices for displaying the operating condition of the switch and the electrical equipment controlled thereby. The switch may be of the single pole double throw type, or the double pole double throw type, operated by a three position toggle lever which actuates a fulcrum mounted conductive bridge. The switch housing incorporates indicating lamps with color coded lenses. A legend plate assembly mounted on the switch includes a readily interchangeable legend plate which indicates switch function whether or not specifically illuminated.
