Patents Assigned to McInerney Spring and Wire Company
  • Patent number: 4426761
Abstract: A pipe clamp for securing together the annular overlap of a pair of assembled and engaging pipes comprises a ring body snugly and concentrically overlying said pipes and contracted or swaged thereon. The ring body is mechanically interlocked with the outer pipe and the pipes are mechanically interlocked and annularly interconnected and sealed throughout 360.degree.. The method of interlocking and sealing together a pair of telescoped pipes includes assembling a ring body around the pipes at their overlap and annularly contracting or swaging the ring body onto the outer pipe. The ring body deforms both pipes forming concentric annular channels therein and a bead in the outer pipe nested within the channel of the inner pipe, the ring body being mechanically interlocked with the outer pipe.

  • Patent number: 4388749
Abstract: A U-bolt clamp assembly for securing together the annular overlap of a pair of telescoped engaging pipes having a U-bolt having a semi-circular bight portion terminating in a pair of legs having threaded ends. A saddle plate assembly includes a saddle plate having a concave seat of semi-circular shape and a pair of spaced keys at the upper ends of the saddle plate seat. The saddle plate assembly is apertured at its ends to receive the U-bolt legs. Opposed keyways upon the interior of the legs interlockingly receive the keys. Fasteners upon the U-bolt ends are tightly drawn into compressive engagement drawing together the U-bolt and saddle plate assembly. The U-bolt bight and the concave seat deform both pipes forming concentric annular channels therein and a bead in the outer pipe nested within the channel of the inner pipe so that the U-bolt and saddle are mechanically interlocked with the outer pipe and the pipes are annularly interlocked, secured and sealed throughout 360.degree..

  • Patent number: 4385514
Abstract: A pipe assembly tool adapted to swedge a ring onto the overlap of a pair of telescoped pipes for securing them together, comprises a pair of aligned swedge die blocks, each having opposed semicircular channels of semicircular cross section, adapted to receive a ring of circular cross-section upon the overlap of a pair of telescoped pipes. A power cylinder has a cross head which mounts a pair of die supports at their one ends. The die blocks span and are mounted upon the die supports at their other ends. A piston rod connects one of the die blocks for moving it into operative compression relative to the other die block, the ring forming concentric channels in the pipes, a peripheral seal therebetween, a bead in one pipe nested within a channel of the other pipe, the ring being nested and interlocked within one channel.
