Abstract: A very heavy transport vehicle for off-road use has a rear axle rigidly connected to the transport frame and a front axle articulated to the transport frame not only for steering swivel motion but also for transverse relative displacement by means of dihedrally inclined planar bearing pads and planar bearing plates, the plates being mounted for limited universal movement with respect to the axle to maintain substantial stability even in rough terrain and even despite substantial lateral wind loads on high and long vehicle bodies.

Abstract: A steerable, track-type vehicle has a body at opposite ends resting on pairs of axles, each axle pair being interconnected by bolsters and bolster frames joined through rotatable joints to track frames equipped with ground-engaging grousers. There is steering mechanism for turning the tracks about the rotatable joints, and preferably there are driving wheels engaging and propelling the grousers.

Abstract: A crane mover is arranged to transfer a crane, such as a dockside crane, around a curve from one straight track to another straight track. The mover runs on rails and carries synchronized jacks engageable with lift pads on the crane. The mover also carries lips on the jack stems to engage and restrict excess rocking movement of the crane wheel equalizers. All of the mover actions and motion are preferably controlled from an operator station on the crane mover.
