  • Patent number: 11297964
Abstract: A temporary roll-up floor cover includes a rugged upper layer that is impervious to water and pervious water vapor, and a lower antimicrobial wicking layer that quickly spreads water while transmitting water vapor, to facilitate evaporation of moisture that gets under the cover. The cover may also include one or more of a central layer containing a microporous membrane, a coating or film layer which may be perforated, and a stiffener lattice that resists folding, gathering and puckering without preventing the cover from rolling up. The coating layer adds additional resistance to folding, gathering and puckering without preventing the cover from rolling up. The coating may be perforated to increase water vapor transmission through the cover. One or more antimicrobial agents may be incorporated into the floor cover, for example, into the wicking layer during extrusion of the airlaid mat forming the wicking layer.

  • Patent number: 11149385
Abstract: A field-assembly dowel basket for concrete construction configured for in-the-field assembly from a small number of component parts, including dowels, dowel jackets, frame wires that are assembled into dowel basket sections. The dowel jackets may support different types of dowels, such as rectangular plate dowels, diamond-shaped plate dowels and rod dowels. The dowel jackets are firmly attached to the frame wires by leg-clip structures with three clips features including two leg clips, which attach to risers of the frame wire, as well as a central clip feature that clips to the crossbar of the frame wire, to securely support the frame wire and dowel to the dowel jacket. Multiple dowel basket sections are joined together by inline connectors connecting adjacent frame wires to fabricate an elongated dowel basket of desired length.

  • Patent number: 11035137
Abstract: A dual-purpose concrete cover that includes a construction cover layer, a vapor retardant layer, and a wicking layer. An anti-snag scrim layer may be included under the wicking layer. One or more antimicrobial agents may be included in the wicking layer or other locations within the cover to prevent mold, mildew, bacterial and viral growth. While conventional concrete curing blankets often include a vapor barrier selected to keep the concrete surface wet well past the concrete curing period, the vapor retardant layer is designed to allow the dual-use cover to dry out at about the end of the concrete curing period so that the dual-use cover can remain in place as a construction cover after the curing period. The dual-purpose concrete cover is designed to fully dry prior to removal, which allows it to be reused, whereas conventional concrete curing blankets are typically discarded after a single use.

  • Patent number: 10443194
Abstract: A field-assembly dowel basket for concrete construction configured for in-the-field assembly from a small number of component parts, including dowels, dowel sleeves that loosely house the dowels, “W” shaped frame wires that support the dowel sleeves, straight shipping wires that connect dowel basket sections together, and “T” connectors that join the frame sections to the shipping wires. Various embodiments of the field-assembly dowel basket may use different types of dowel sleeves, such as open-channel sleeves, closed-channel sleeves, and sealed-channel sleeves in which tape or another suitable cover is used to seal open-channel sleeves. The dowel sleeves may house different types of dowels, such as rectangular plate dowels and round rod dowels.

  • Patent number: 10072384
Abstract: A concrete dowel device including a sleeve and plate in which the sleeve includes break-away alignment tabs at the opening of the sleeve to ensure proper alignment of the plate within the sleeve during field installation. The tabs are positioned at the sleeve opening, rather than along the length of the socket, to avoid misalignment of the plate in the sleeve, simplify use and reduce manufacturing costs of the product. The sleeve and plate may include additional alignment surfaces on the plate, at the rear corners, or along the rear side of the plate and sleeve. To facilitate manufacturing, the break-away alignment tabs may be formed as molded components rotated and snapped into position. Alternatively, the break-away alignment tabs may be formed as part of an insert plate manufactured apart from and attached to the flange of the sleeve.
