Patent number: 8276384Abstract: Ambient temperature thermal energy cryogenic engine with constant pressure with continuous “cold” combustion at constant pressure and with an active chamber operating with a cryogenic fluid stored in its liquid phase, and used as a work gas in its gaseous phase and operating in a closed cycle with return to its liquid phase. The initially liquid cryogenic fluid is vaporized in the gaseous phase at very low temperatures and supplies the inlet of a gas compression device, which then discharges this compressed work gas, still at low temperature, and through a heat exchanger with the ambient temperature, into a work tank or external expansion chamber fitted or not fitted with a heating device, where its temperature and its volume will considerably increase in order to then be preferably let into a relief device providing work and for example comprising an active chamber according to international patent application WO 2005/049968.Type: GrantFiled: July 17, 2007Date of Patent: October 2, 2012Assignee: MDI-Motor Development International S.A.Inventors: Guy Negre, Cyril Negre

Patent number: 7469527Abstract: An engine uses a top dead center piston stop device. It is fed by compressed air, via a working capacity, which, in the bi-energy version, includes a device for heating the air supplied by additional energy. The active expansion chamber consists of a variable volume or charge piston sliding in a cylinder, coupled to a space above the engine piston via a passage. When stoped at upper dead center, the pressurized air is admitted into the expansion chamber with the smallest volume thereof and, under the effect of thrust, increases the volume thereof by producing work; the expansion chamber is then kept at a maximum volume during expansion of the engine cylinder driving back the engine piston in its downward stroke, providing work of its own. During exhaust, the two pistons travel in an upward stroke and simultaneously reach top dead center in order to resume a new cycle.Type: GrantFiled: November 17, 2004Date of Patent: December 30, 2008Assignee: MDI - Motor Development International S.A.Inventors: Guy Negre, Cyril Negre

Patent number: 7296405Abstract: A variable flow reducing valve and distribution system is disclosed for compressed air injection engines operating on mono or dual energy with dual or triple supply mode and comprising a high pressure compressed air tank and a buffer capacity. The system can control the stroke of an engine piston and stop the piston at the dead centre. Moreover, the air supply in the buffer capacity and to the cylinders is controlled by pilot valves. A cam for the pilot valves is positioned directly on the flanges of a crankshaft and drives the rocker arm rods to pivot rocker arms around corresponding mobile shafts that can move between two ends of the rocker arms, thereby controlling lifting of the pilot valves according to the movement of the rocker arm rods.Type: GrantFiled: April 22, 2003Date of Patent: November 20, 2007Assignee: MDI Motor Development International S.A.Inventors: Guy Negre, Cyril Negre

Patent number: 7124586Abstract: The invention concerns a cogeneration plant preferably using a compressor-alternator unit equipped with a thermal heater operating independently, by drawing compressed air supplied by one or several compression stages, which is then heated to increase its temperature and/or its pressure, then re-injected into the expansion chambers of the engine to produce the power stroke, wherein the home heating is used as device for heating the compressed air and usable in a local network where each house of a housing group (40, 40A,) is equipped with such units, interconnected (41) and controlled by a power management station (42) for the supply of electric power to each of the houses from one or more units capable of being activated successively and/or alternately depending on the overall requirements of the houses of the network.Type: GrantFiled: March 21, 2003Date of Patent: October 24, 2006Assignee: MDI Motor Development International S.A.Inventors: Guy Negre, Cyril Negre

Publication number: 20050224059Abstract: The invention relates to a variable flow reducing valve and distribution system for compressed air injection engines, comprising a high pressure compressed air tank and a buffer capacity and operating on mono or dual energy with dual or triple supply mode. Said invention also comprises a system for controlling the stroke of the piston which can be used to stop said piston at the dead centre. Moreover, the air supply in the final use buffer capacity and the supply to the cylinders are ensured by pilot valves. The cams of the aforementioned pilot valves, which are used to control the rocker arm rods, are positioned directly on the flanges of the crankshaft (14) and each rocker arm pivots around a mobile shaft (21) that can move between the two ends thereof, thereby enabling the changing of the lever arm ratio which determines the lifting of the valve according to the movement of the rocker arm rod. The invention is suitable for use as a gas reducing valve or for engine or compressor distribution systems.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 22, 2003Publication date: October 13, 2005Applicant: MDI Motor Development International S.A.Inventors: Guy Negre, Cyril Negre
