Abstract: In some embodiments, the distal end of an endodontic brush unevenly (e.g., not along a line perpendicular to the axis of the brush). Optionally, the uneven strands will contact the walls of a channel more evenly and/or will have an increased stirring effect than an evenly cut end may be cut using an abrasive cutter (e.g., a grinding wheel) and/or a laser and/or an electrical discharge machining (EDM) cutter. Optionally, a grinding wheel will rotate opposite the winding of the wire. Optionally, a round end may be formed on the wire. In some embodiment, a coupling between an endodontic brush and a handpiece in configured to be held totationally top the handpiece by friction and/or locked longitudinally into the handpiece by an interference element. In some embodiments, an edge of the brush is roughened. Optionally, the brush may be bent and/or eccentric.

Abstract: In some embodiments, the current invention relates to a method and/or system for using a standard dental handpiece for endodontic cleaning. For example, a dental adapter is disclosed having a fitting for a standard dental handpiece, a torque limiter and/or a mount for an endodontic file. For example, the adapter may be single use and/or multi use. In some embodiments, the mount includes the torque limiter. For example, an endodontic file may be connected to the mount with a friction fitting that allows rotation of the file with respect to the mount at high torque. Optionally the mount is positioned eccentrically with respect to the fitting.

Abstract: A sublingual dental absorbent pad has a U-shaped body made of a moisture permeable bottom layer, a moisture impermeable top layer, an a moisture absorbent middle layer. The dental absorbent pad has a generally U-shape so that it fits in the mouth under the tongue. The dental absorbent pad has a central portion from which extend two legs which are separated from each other in a divergent manner to form a V-shaped space therebetween. The central portion has a front edge with a generally flat or shallow arcing configuration.

Abstract: A device for disinfecting and/or sterilization of a dental cavity includes: an electrode pair that extends into the cavity to provide current along a portion of the cavity; and a controller that sends controlled electrical energy to the cavity via current flowing between the electrodes when located in the cavity, thereby to provide electrical energy for disinfection and/or sterilization.
