Patents Assigned to Meacham Marine Products, Inc.
  • Patent number: 4403799
Abstract: A novel flush hasp for use in conjunction with a boat hatch, door or the like, the hasp having a base portion adapted to be mounted on a boat deck or door jamb adjacent the hatch or door. This base portion is utilized in conjunction with a movable hasp member adapted to be mounted on the hatch or door and movable therewith toward or away from engagement with the base portion. The base portion is provided with a locking means rotatable between locking and release positions, whereas the movable hasp member is provided with an aperture designed when adjacent the base member to receive the locking means and closely interact therewith. In accordance with the first two embodiments of this invention, the base portion has locking means in the form of a closed loop that may be rotated while extending through the aperture of the movable hasp member so as to tightly engage the movable portion of the hasp and thus achieve a latching of the hatch or door in the closed position.

  • Patent number: 4354445
Abstract: A lift ring device for installation in the forward portion of the deck of a boat or other item that may need from time to time to be lifted, which device can be retracted when not in use, thus to leave the deck of the boat relatively uncluttered. The lift ring (20, 60) is disposed in a slotted deck plate (12, 52) and out of this slot the lift ring may be readily lifted so that it can serve either as a deck cleat, or in the lifting or towing of the boat. A lower, rod-like portion (26, 66) is integral with the lift ring, and this rod-like portion is slidable in an elongate structural member (16, 56) attached to the underside of the deck plate. We use a compression spring (28, 68) around the rod-like portion in order to insure retraction of the lift ring when not in use, and a sturdy weight bearing device is provided on the lowermost end of the rod-like portion to assure that the lift ring will not separate from the deck plate during the lifting of the boat.

  • Patent number: 4316626
Abstract: A novel flush hasp for use in conjunction with a boat hatch or the like, the hasp having a base portion adapted to be placed in the boat deck adjacent the hatch, and a movable portion adapted to be secured to the hatch and thereby movable toward or away from engagement with the base portion. The base portion is provided with an aperture, and the movable portion is provided with a dependent member adapted to enter the aperture when the hatch is closed. The dependent member contains latching means adapted to be moved between a position in which engagement or disengagement of the hasp portions is readily permitted, and a motion-inhibiting or latching position. Locking means are provided for preventing on occasion, the latching means from being moved away from the motion-inhibiting position.

  • Patent number: 4270478
Abstract: A rotatable device for marine use is provided, comprising a housing designed to be embedded in the deck of the boat, with such housing having therein an opening in which is rotatably mounted a cleat member. The rotatable cleat member comprises a plate substantially flat on one side, and having affixed on its other side an upstanding cleat or other such fitting. The rotatable cleat member is supported by a pair of parallel shafts, with one extending outwardly from each side or end thereof, and each of the oppositely extending shafts being received in a respective elongate, vertical slot in the wall of the housing. At least one of the shafts is configured so as to be non-rotatable in a portion of its respective slot. A bias is provided for biasing the rotatable cleat member upwardly, with such bias being able to be overcome by finger pressure such that the cleat member can on occasion be moved downwardly in its housing.
