In the second position, the support members allow the device to be freestanding. A first light source is arranged on the housing such that the device may function as an emergency roadside light. The device further includes a tire pressure gauge, including a pressure sensor, a processor, and a display, wherein the processor is configured to output a value on the display indicative of a measured pressure.
Abstract: A method of operating a database system access to plurality of heterogeneous databases, each of said databases having a structure based on a respective database model and storing a plurality of data entities having attributes and occurrences within the structure; providing an interface database, the interface database populated with a plurality of unique, multi-character expressions associated with the data entities of plurality of databases, whereby the plurality of unique, multi-character expressions are defined by assigning to every entity, every attribute and every entity occurrence a unique, multi-character expression, the expression having a predetermined hierarchical structure which defines the relationship between each entity, attribute and entity occurrence with every other entity, attribute and entity occurrence in the interface database and storing said expressions in an expression set table linking each element of each expression to a hierarchical level and a position in a data model.

Abstract: A measuring device including a sensor that generates data representing a detected body parameter, such as body fat, body water and weight of an individual. A portable device removably connected to the measuring device for receiving, displaying and storing the data representing the detected body parameter. The portable device may correlate the stored data with an individual user. The portable device is responsive to a personal computer for uploading the stored information thereto.
Abstract: An automotive safety device is provided including a housing having a plurality of support members pivotally attached thereto and moveable between a first, closed position and a second, open position.
Abstract: A load cell assembly for an electronic scale may include a substantially flat plate having an outer portion and a load cell aperture defining an inner portion having a deflectable member. A sensor may be disposed on the deflectable member responsive to deflection of the deflectable member. A housing may be configured to engage the outer portion of the load cell and hold the load cell. A foot member may include a bottom portion for contacting the surface upon which the electronic scale is sitting and a top portion including an upwardly depending foot member wall for contacting the inner portion of the load cell and foot member snap fit engagement members configured to engage the inner portion of the load cell, the upwardly depending foot member wall and the foot member snap fit engagement members resisting lateral movement of the foot member relative to the load cell.
Abstract: A system and method are disclosed for the automated discovery of devices on a network, such as a TCP/IP network using Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (“DHCP”) and Domain Name System (“DNS”) servers. Devices on the network may be discovered, identified, and tracked by a monitoring server. Communications with the monitoring server may include identification information for each device. The identification information may be stored in DHCP option fields, transmitted with DHCP messages, and used to identify whether the device is new to the network.
Abstract: A voltage to current converter is provided for use with a current measuring device, said current measuring device being operable to provide an output voltage which is an analogue of a current to be measured. The converter is arranged to provide an output current which is an analogue of the current to be measured. The converter comprises an electronic controller, a switching amplifier and means for measuring the output current as an analogue voltage and providing a measure of said analogue voltage to the electronic controller.

Abstract: A tire pressure monitoring using wireless network includes a remote command device and a valve-stem mountable tire pressure gauge. The tire pressure gauge includes a pressure sensor for detecting a pressure of a fluid in a tire and providing an output signal indicative of the detected fluid pressure, and a first radio-frequency module for transmitting data indicative of the detected fluid pressure based on the output signal of the pressure sensor. The remote command device includes a second radio-frequency module for wirelessly receiving the data transmitted by the data transmitted by the first radio frequency module, a wireless communication module for communicating via a wireless network, information based at least one data received by the second radio frequency module, and a display for displaying at least the fluid pressure detected by the pressure sensor.
Abstract: A method, system and device for synchronizing a time period over which energy measurements are accumulated for an energy monitoring system including a plurality of energy monitoring devices is described. The method comprises transmitting a first radio frequency packet from a time reference device via at least a first and a second of the plurality of energy monitoring devices to a third of the plurality of energy monitoring devices. The method further comprises adjusting a time register within the third energy monitoring device based on the reception of the packet.
