    Abstract: The padded shoe brake comprises a pair of shoe pads, the wheel rim mating surface of which has a hollow shape and is adapted to continuously encompass both sides and an inner annular portion of the wheel rim, a control and guiding assembly being operative to move the shoe pads along paths which intersect the wheel rim between the sides and the inner annular portion of the wheel rim.
