  • Patent number: 10782034
Abstract: The present disclosure involves a free cooling temperature conditioning system having an air handling assembly having a first cooling coil. The first cooling coil includes an intake port receiving coolant at a first temperature and further includes an output port for the coolant at a second temperature. The air handing assembly receives return air flow from a space being temperature conditioned, where the return air flows over the first cooling coil to condition the return air to supply air. The air handing assembly delivers the supply air into the space being temperature conditioned. The conditioning system also includes a controller configured to maintain a temperature difference between the second temperature and the first temperature.

  • Patent number: 10414531
Abstract: To fill bags, a hopper is used to stored fill material. Bag holders are mounted on a transport mechanism. At one or more operator stations, an operator attaches a bag to one of the bag holders. At one or more fill stations, fill material from the hopper is used to fill a bag attached to a bag holder. A conveyer mechanism conveys the bag, after it has been filled, away from the transport mechanism. The transport mechanism transports the bag holder with the attached bag from an operator station to a fill station. The transport mechanism also transports the bag holder from a fill station to an operator station.

  • Patent number: 9968516
Abstract: A child-resistant closure for a container. The closure has a first groove and a second groove formed into a base. A cap covers an opening in the base. The cap can rotate between a closed position, a primed position and an open position. The cap has a nub that engages the first groove on the base, when in its closed position, engages the second groove on the base when in its primed position, and is free of any groove when in its open position. A mechanical activator is coupled to the base with a teeter connection. The mechanical activator displaces the cap from the closed position to the primed position when a first section of the mechanical activator is depressed. The mechanical activator displaces the cap from the primed position to the open position when a second section of the mechanical activator is depressed.

  • Patent number: 8716620
Abstract: An upper housing assembly includes a pivot arm having an upper cam surface adjacent a distal end. A cam follower is coupled to a laser head to move up and down with a laser head. The cam follower exerts a downward force on the upper cam surface during normal operation. Thus, as the pivot arm rotates back and forth, the laser head moves up and down. A assist gas hose can be coupled between the upper housing and the laser head which has a spiral configuration permitting relative axial movement between the upper housing and the laser head. Upon an upward axial force being exerted on the laser head, the cam follower moves upwardly away from the upper cam surface.

  • Patent number: 8405409
Abstract: The high speed, high accuracy capacitive gauging system employs an oscillator fed through steep slope filter that is discriminates between very small changes in capacitance even in the presence of electrical noise. During intervals when the probe tip is retracted, the oscillator frequency is calibrated to match the sweet spot in the center of the linear operative region of the steep slope filter. This calibrates the system to overcome the effects of varying temperature and humidity in the manufacturing environment.

  • Patent number: 7363796
Abstract: A method for cold-forming a nozzle for a laser includes placing a slug or tube of oxygen-free copper into a die. A mandrel is forced into the copper slug or tube. The resultant compressive force causes the copper to cold flow around the mandrel and the die to define an inner shape and an outer dimension of the part.

  • Patent number: 7153717
Abstract: This invention comprises a process for fabricating a MEMS microstructure in a sealed cavity wherein the etchant entry holes are created as a by-product of the fabrication process without an additional step to etch holes in the cap layer. The process involves extending the layers of sacrificial material past the horizontal boundaries of the cap layer. The cap layer is supported by pillars formed by a deposition in holes etched through the sacrificial layers, and the etchant entry holes are formed when the excess sacrificial material is etched away, leaving voids between the pillars supporting the cap.

  • Patent number: 7089972
Abstract: A glycol proportioning station that provides a deicing mixture of glycol and water to tank trucks that in turn spray the deicing mixture onto aircraft. The invention includes a remote control that is positioned where the truck is loaded and which runs in parallel with the controls on the main unit of the system. The proportioning system operates with an economy of parts by employing constant flow rates of both water and glycol. The desired percentage of glycol in the effluent is obtained by initially setting the position of one or more modulating valves provided on each of separate water and glycol lines and then employing a refractometer feedback loop to modulate the flow in one or both of the input lines. A static mixer positioned along the effluent line upstream of the in-line refractometer provides a uniform glycol-water mixture. The system provides other novel features such as a “last fill” option that prevents the system from freezing when it is not being used.

  • Patent number: 6819520
Abstract: This invention discloses a method for controlling the position of flexible portions of a mechanical structure by attaching one or more Momentum Transfer Actuators on the flexible portions of the mechanical structure near the points whose position is to be controlled, sensing the position of the flexible portions of the mechanical structure, and, employing one or more feedback loops, to control the Momentum Transfer Actuators to cause the flexible ends of the mechanical structure to follow a desired position as a function of time. The invention also addresses the use of combined actuating and sensing devices that incorporate both a Momentum Transfer Actuator and an inertial sensor to provide acceleration, velocity, and position information to the feedback control system.

  • Patent number: RE40683
Abstract: A process for maintaining ongoing registration for pages on a given search engine is disclosed. It is a method to actively cause an updating of a specific Internet search engine database regarding a particular WWW resource. The updated information can encompass changed, added, or deleted content of a specific WWW site. The process comprises the steps of having software tools at a local WWW site manually and/or automatically keep an index of added, changed, or deleted content to a particular WWW site since that WWW site was last indexed by a specific Internet search engine. The software tools will notify a specific Internet search engine of the URLs of specific WWW site resources that have been added, changed, or deleted. The Internet search engine will process the list of indices of changes, additions or deletions provided by a web site, or add the URL of resources that require indexing or re-indexing to a database and visit the WWW site to index added or re-index changed content when possible.
