The remotely operated underwater manipulator includes an electric actuator for each axis of motion of the manipulator, and an end effector that includes a rotational joint and a tool motor for controlling a tool affixed to the end effector. A method for changing the tool of the manipulator in a subsea environment is disclosed.

There is provided a rubber compound: by using the rubber compound, it is possible to simultaneously form a power generating portion and a hot-water producing portion in a regular photovoltaic module forming line without cracking of a crystalline silicon cell used in the solar panel and without crushing of a channel of a resin pipe used in the hot-water producing portion.

    Abstract: A ribbon terminal connecting apparatus for connecting a ribbon terminal of a photovoltaic device panel to an inspection apparatus terminal automatically when inspecting or measuring a photovoltaic device panel is provided. The ribbon-shaped terminal connecting apparatus includes a stand-up means, a base pressing means, a terminal connecting means and a moving means. The stand-up member of the stand-up means is lowered onto and contacted against the backing material of the photovoltaic device panel. The base portion of the ribbon terminal extended from the backing material is held down by the pressing means for pressing down on the base portion of the ribbon terminal. The moving means moves the stand-up member so that a leading edge of the ribbon terminal extending across the backing material is placed on the stand-up member. The terminal connecting means connects the terminal of the inspection apparatus to the ribbon terminal placed on the stand-up member.

    Abstract: A skate wheel (10) having a configuration of hubs (24), tire (14), spacers (26) and bearing assembly (22) which firmly locks the tire in place and yet allows the tire, bearing assembly and spacer to be replaced independently from the rest of the wheel when appropriate. In the preferred embodiment, each hub is formed with an annular recess to hold the spacer and bearing assembly. The tire is firmly locked into the present wheel by virtue of an annular tire flange (18) of rectangular transverse cross-section which is received into each hub and by acutely V-shaped projections (23) from each hub which are received into the tire. Small gaps are provided between hubs and spacers to prevent torsional overload of the bearing assembly. Peaks and valleys can be formed in mating hub and tire surfaces to prevent rotation of the tire relative to the hub.
