    Abstract: Apparatus for accessing the circulatory system of a person or animal includes a port and a device for accessing the port. The access device has a solid introducer with a catheter received thereabout. The introducer and catheter are covered by telescoping containers which expose the insertion ends of the introducer and catheter only at the time of insertion.
