Abstract: A reflective display tile can be used in connection with a static or video display. The tile includes a transparent substrate having a front surface, a rear surface, and a peripheral edge surrounding the front and rear surfaces, an electrostatic shutter array disposed at the front surface of said substrate, a reflective medium disposed at the rear surface of the substrate, and drive electronics disposed rearward of the reflective medium. The shutter array and drive electronics are configured so that the tile is tileable and can be abutted at any of its peripheral edges against identical tiles to form a display with substantially no perceived optical interface between adjacent tiles. Another embodiment includes an opaque substrate such as a circuit board. A further embodiment has a polymeric film coated on one side with a metal film and on another side with ink or blackening material.

Abstract: Systems and methods for executing a second application within a primary application window are provided, thereby improving the usability of graphical user interfaces (GUI). An exemplary method comprises executing a first application on the primary application window. The primary application window displays a plurality of GUI elements associated with the first application. The first application is configured to execute a second application upon processing an event invoked on the primary application window. Thereafter, the first application and the primary application window are suspended and a secondary application window is displayed within the primary application window. The second application window displays a plurality of GUI elements associated with the secondary application. The first application and primary application window automatically resume after closing the secondary application window.

Abstract: A message transportation management system can be configured to receive a message directed to a plurality of target message recipients. The system can determine a plurality of levels of activity, each corresponding to one of the plurality of target message recipients. The system can receive a level of activity threshold associated with each of the plurality of target message recipients. The system can determine that the first subgroup of target message recipients qualifies as priority target message recipients. The system can transmit, via a priority transfer location, the message to the first subgroup of target message recipients and transmit, via a default transfer location different from the priority transfer location, the message to a second subgroup of target message recipients.

Abstract: A method of constructing and handling a request for a desired data file relating to a broadcast segment of a broadcast signal is described. The method comprises receiving an information signal at a receiving device. The information signal comprises at least a data element, and the data element relates to a segment of the broadcast signal. The method also comprises presenting the data element to a user interface of the receiving device, obtaining a user selection of the data element from the user interface, and constructing and transmitting a request for the desired data file relating to the selected data element, the request including an identifier relating to the desired data file.

Abstract: A method for forming a virtual 3D mathematical model of a dental system, including receiving DICOM files representing the dental system; identifying number and location of voxels of tissues of the dental system; combining the voxels of the tissues into voxels of organs of the dental system; combining the organs into the virtual 3D mathematical model of the dental system, wherein the virtual 3D mathematical models supports linear, non-linear and volumetric measurements of the dental system; and presenting the virtual 3D mathematical model to a user. The DICOM files can be cone beam or multispiral computed tomography, MRT, PET and/or ultrasonography. The tissues include enamel, dentin, pulp, cartilage, periodontium, and/or jaw bone. The organs include teeth, gums, temporomandibular joint and/or jaw. A size of the voxels is typically between 40 ?m and 200 ?m.

Abstract: Video game competition wagering in a hybrid game including a host game and a guest game is disclosed. A wager associated with a player in the host game is received. An outcome of at least one gambling event in the host game is determined. Game elements are associated with the player based at least in part on the gambling event outcome. The game elements may affect the player's interaction in a round of play of the guest game. A gaming outcome is determined based on the player's interaction with the round of play in the guest game.

Abstract: A method, system and apparatus are disclosed. A device includes processing circuitry that includes a processor and a memory, where the memory is configured to store a logical container including a plurality of encrypted data portions and a plurality of executable code portions. Each encrypted data portion and executable code portion is separately encrypted with a different encryption key and associated with a user. The processing circuitry receives, from a software application operating in another device, a first request associated with at least one encrypted data portion and one executable code portion of the logical container. The first request includes an encryption token associated with the software application. In response to the first request, the processing circuitry triggers a verification code portion to determine whether the first request is authorized and performs at least one operation to fulfill the first request in response to determining the request is authorized.

Abstract: An embodiment of the present disclosure provides a method using a computing device to initiate play of media within a medical examination or treatment room. The method may include: capturing a plurality of images by a one or more image capturers; determining whether any persons are within a predefined boundary area in one or more of the images using a face detector or person detector; determining whether any persons are outside of the boundary area in one or more of the images using the person detector; and initiating play of media when a first person is determined to be within the predefined boundary area and no persons are determined to be outside of the boundary area in the images.

Abstract: The Variable Data Source Dynamic and Automatic Ingestion and Auditing Platform Apparatuses, Methods and Systems (“DIAP”) transforms file upload request, external data request, and analytics request inputs via DIAP components into clean data, metadata data sets, visualization module output, and audit notification outputs. A data ingest request is obtained via a user interface. A data file to ingest is obtained and processed to generate a clean file. A database table with a unique name is created and data in the clean file loaded into the database table. A metadata data set identifier is generated. Table columns from the database table to include into the metadata data set are determined, and the metadata data set is generated. The metadata data set links columns from the database table to analytics engine UI elements, and columns are associated with audit trail data via the metadata data set identifier.

Abstract: A shutter system includes a substrate having a front surface with a length and a width, and a conductive layer on a portion of the front surface of the substrate; a dielectric layer disposed on the conductive layer; and an electrostatic shutter having a proximal end attached to the dielectric layer such that a portion of the shutter is in direct physical contact with the dielectric layer at a point at or adjacent the attached proximal end. The shutter is configured to transition between extended and retracted configurations. In the same or an alternative embodiment, the system includes a reinforcement configured such that when the shutter is in the extended configuration, an edge at a distal end of the shutter opposite the proximal end remains substantially parallel to the proximal end of the shutter as the shutter transitions from the extended configuration to the retracted configuration.

Abstract: A field deployable soundproof booth for remote audio dubbing including a collapsible support structure onto which a plurality of soundproof material sections are attached after the support structure has been assembled into a deployed position; and an audio dubbing system for recording and managing audio files, including: a video display system, an audio recording system, an audio and video file management system, and a communication system for transmitting audio and video files over the internet. The soundproofing material that is attached to the deployed support structure may preferably be a plurality of triangular acoustic foam sections that are attached to the support structure by hook and loop fasteners prior to use.

Abstract: Methods and systems for simulating motion in a virtual reality system without external motors or similar machinery are described herein. A mechanical seat may be mounted to a base such that the seat is moveable in at least two dimensions (e.g., roll and pitch). A human occupant of the seat may use a control yoke fixed in relation to the base to cause the chair to move in a direction opposite of the force exerted on the control yoke. An extended reality (XR) motion controller may be mounted in a fixed relationship to the seat. Motion may then be simulated in an XR environment by depicting acceleration that would yield a similar experience on the user's vestibular senses as gravity exerts on the user's vestibular senses based on motion of the seat.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media are disclosed for optimization of online advertising bid requests and floor pricing. In one embodiment, a method may include receiving a first ad impression request for an ad slot on a publisher website or mobile application from an ad exchange server, extracting first publisher website information from the publisher website, and associating the first publisher website information with the first ad impression request. The method may include comparing the referral website URL to a set of one or more historical ad impression requests, identifying second publisher website information associated with a second ad impression request, the second publisher website information comprising ad slot dimension information, and associating the second publisher website information with the first ad impression request. The method may include generating a bid request associated with the first ad impression request, and sending the bid request to one or more ad servers.

Abstract: A system, method and software for operating a virtual assistant system that runs on an electronic device where a virtual image represents a virtual assistant. Voice recognition software identifies spoken action commands. The electronic device generates an interface image, such as an avatar, that is displayed. The interface image appears three dimensional and contains enhanced effects that cause the interface image to appear, at least in part, to project above, or in front of, the screen surface of the electronic device. The interface image responds to the spoken commands. For certain spoken commands, a command response image is provided. The command response image is a three-dimensional image or video that contains enhanced effects. The command response image can be recalled from a database or created by recalling an image or video and processing that image or video to first be three-dimensional and then to contain enhanced vertical projection effects.

Abstract: A method of updating an electrophoretic display that makes use of an electrophoretic display capable of receiving and displaying a transmitted digital photograph, a marker and a digital camera capable of transmitting digital images to a destination, the display including a transparent cover that can be marked on by the marker. First, an image is displayed on the electrophoretic display, and the marker is used to mark the cover, thereby forming markings. Then a digital photograph of the display is taken with the digital camera. Finally, the photograph is transmitted to the electrophoretic display and displayed on the electrophoretic display, thereby displaying both the image and the markings.

Abstract: An ice-maker/ice storage box assembly and a refrigerator having the ice-maker/ice storage box assembly are provided. The ice-maker/ice storage box assembly has an ice storage box. The ice storage box is provided with a rotary shaft and a separation mechanism. An outer end of the rotary shaft is provided with a rotary-shaft connector. The rotary-shaft connector is connected to a transmission connector of an ice dispensing motor. The separation mechanism is used to axially separate the transmission connector from the rotary-shaft connector. The ice-maker/ice storage box assembly enables the ice storage box to be conveniently removed without damaging a connection part between the ice dispensing motor and the ice storage box, and the ice storage box does not have to be removed in a fixed direction.

Abstract: A system for real time distribution of data and media is disclosed. The system may include a processor that executes instructions to authenticate an employee into an application based on login information received for the employee. The processor may enable the employee to access the application if the employee is authenticated. Once the employee is logged in, the processor may receive media content and information associated with a customer and may transmit the media content and the information to a device of a manager for approval. After the media content and the information are transmitting to the device of the manager, the processor may receive the approval of the media content and the information from the device of the manager. The processor may then proceed to interrupt currently displayed media content on a display device to display video content including the media content and the information associated with the customer.
