  • Patent number: 12356309
Abstract: Apparatus and methods are provided for sidelink configuration and traffic forwarding for L2 UE-to-UE relay. In one novel aspect, the relay UE configures sidelink configuration for both direct PC5 link between the relay UE and the remote UE and indirect PC5 link between two remote UEs. The relay UE performs traffic forwarding for remote UEs based on the adaptation information included within the SL-SCH sub-header of PC5 MAC sub-PDU. In one embodiment, the UE establishes sidelinks, configures end-to-end SLRB, activates the end-to-end SLRB, and forwards data packets between the remote UEs based on bearer mapping. The end-to-end SLRBs are activated automatically or are activated by a PC5 MAC control element (CE) or RRC message between the remote UEs. In another embodiment, the bearer mapping correlates the end-to-end SLRB ID with a plurality of sidelink relay channel IDs.

  • Patent number: 8923126
Abstract: A communications apparatus is provided. A controller module generates a suggested sub-frame pattern describing suggested arrangement of one or more almost blank sub-frame(s) in one or more frame(s) and schedules control signal and/or data transmissions according to the suggested sub-frame pattern. A transceiver module transmits at least a first signal carrying information regarding the suggested sub-frame pattern to a peer communications apparatus. The peer communications apparatus does not schedule data transmissions in the almost blank sub-frame(s).

  • Patent number: 8576786
Abstract: A hierarchical downlink (DL) synchronization channel (SCH) is provided for wireless OFDM/OFDMA systems. The SCH includes a Primary SCH (P-SCH) for carrying PA-Preambles used for coarse timing and frequency synchronization, and a Secondary SCH (S-SCH) for carrying SA-Preambles used for cell ID detection. The total time length occupied by P-SCH and S-SCH is equal to one OFDM symbol time length of a data channel, and S-SCH is located in front of P-SCH in each DL frame. A perfect multi-period time-domain structure is created and maintained in P-SCH to increase preciseness of frame boundary estimation. With overlapping deployment of macrocells and femtocells, a predefined SCH configuration scheme is provided to separate frequency subbands used for macrocells and femtocells such that interferences in S-SCH can be mitigated. In addition, a self-organized SCH configuration scheme is provided to allow more flexibility for femtocells to avoid or introduce interference in S-SCH.

  • Patent number: 8256685
Abstract: A radio-frequency integrated circuit chip package has at least one integrated antenna. The package includes at least one generally planar ground plane formed with at least one slot therein. A first substrate structure has an outer surface and an inner surface. The at least one generally planar ground plane is formed on the outer surface of the first substrate structure. At least one feed line is spaced inwardly from the ground plane and parallel thereto. The at least one feed line has an inner surface and an outer surface and is a transmission line formed on the inner surface of the first substrate structure with the outer surface of the at least one feed line adjacent the inner surface of the first substrate structure. At least one radio frequency chip is coupled to the feed line and the ground plane. A second substrate structure, spaced inwardly from the feed line, defines a chip-receiving cavity. The chip is located in the chip-receiving cavity.

  • Patent number: 7092428
Abstract: A selective hopping method for hit avoidance in a frequency hopping spread spectrum communication system utilizing an original hopping sequence, having a plurality of available channels for receiving signal packet traffic utilizing a plurality of receiving signal slots are disclosed. The plurality of available channels all are available for use in frequency hopping. The method includes the steps of dividing the plurality of available channels into a plurality of partitions; distributing the available channels in each of the plurality of partitions into a predetermined distribution; forming a partition sequence by assigning a predetermined number of channels to a plurality of selected receiving signal slot sets; generating a generated hopping sequence by partition mapping, in which the partition mapping is responsive to the partition sequence; and managing the receiving signal packet traffic, in which the receiving signal packet traffic is transmitted only in the selected receiving signal slot sets.
