Patents Assigned to Medical Device Engineering, LLC
  • Patent number: 12545483
Abstract: The present invention is directed to systems and methods that permit dropper bottles to be filled without removing the dropper spout from the body of the bottle. As such, dropper bottles having integrated spouts can be filled after manufacture of the bottle, which facilitates the aseptic preparation of compounded solutions. In some embodiments, the inventive bottle includes a fill valve on the base and is vented through the nozzle. In other embodiments, the bottle is both filled and vented via the nozzle.

  • Patent number: 12383463
Abstract: A tamper evident seal structure for a vial septum or other cover having a housing including a sidewall terminating in oppositely disposed open and closed ends. A retainer is fixedly disposed within the housing and structured for retaining engagement with a portion of a vial, substantially adjacent the vial cover. The housing also includes a pressure member disposed within an interior thereof in attached, relation to the closed-end. The pressure member and the retainer are cooperatively disposed and structured to respectively exert pressure on the vial cover concurrent to retaining engagement with the vial. Tamper evident capabilities are at least partially defined by a detachment of a removable sidewall section from a remainder of said sidewall.

  • Patent number: 10183129
Abstract: A closure assembly structured for use with a female connector and being operative to indicate an attempted tampering or access thereto. A flow restrictor is movably and removably disposed within a housing and includes a male connector such as, but not limited to, a male luer connector comprising a plug disposed and structured to be inserted in flow restricting engagement within an interior port of the female connector. An indicator member is removably connected to an interior of the housing in surrounding relation to the flow restrictor and a drive assembly associated with both the flow restrictor and the housing is operable to dispose the male plug into the inserted, flow restricting engagement within the female connector. Attempted removal of the housing from the female connector, such as by an applied axial force, will detach the indicator member from the housing and expose it in a visually observable position on the flow restrictor, thereby indicating attempted access.

  • Patent number: 9402967
Abstract: The tamper evident cap assembly is structured for protective connection to a syringe of the type having a nozzle and a discharge port, wherein the cap assembly includes a body configured to receive and restrict access to the nozzle. A flow restricting member is connected to the body in flow restricting relation to the discharge port of the nozzle. An attachment assembly interconnects the body and the flow restricting member and is structured to facilitate detachment of the body from the flow restricting member upon the body being removed from the syringe. A connecting assembly is mounted on the flow restricting member and is structured to be connected to a syringe nozzle by a linearly directed, snap-fit, “push-on” action, and to be disconnected therefrom by a “rotate-off” action.

  • Patent number: 7762988
Abstract: An improved tamper evident end cap assembly for a drug loaded syringe which assembly includes a syringe cap to close the discharge port in the nozzle of the syringe and an indicator ring about the nozzle connected by chads or tabs to a tubular shield which chads or tabs are adapted to break freeing the ring from the shield to loosely wobble on the nozzle indicating tampering if an axial force of separation is applied to the syringe cap to remove it from the syringe and a one way drive mechanism engaging both the shield and syringe cap so the shield may be rotated to advance the assembly onto a syringe nozzle but which is not responsive to counter rotation to withdraw the syringe cap to open the discharge port and gain access to the drug.
