Abstract: A multifunctional polymer nano-composite sensor system for detecting various biosignals like ECG and other kinds of signals for sensing strain, temperature and moisture has been disclosed. This sensor system includes (1) a polymer nano-composite sensor material that is flexible, elastic, soft, and conductive, (2) a sensor material fabricated into a desired shape or form, and (3) a signal capturing interface for collecting, transmitting and processing the signals. This sensor system can easily be integrated into a user environment for various user-transparent sensing applications.
Abstract: In a safety syringe in which a needle and needle holder can be withdrawn into a barrel after use, the needle holder is provided with an insert having forwardly and inwardly extending resilient fingers that are cammed outward by an enlarged head formed on a projection of the plunger of the syringe, and engage a proximally facing surface on the head to connect the needle holder positively to the plunger so that the needle holder can be withdrawn into the barrel of the syringe.

Abstract: Polymer-based composition effective for disinfecting and for sterilizing plus cleaning and/or lubricating devices. The composition contains, in solution, a hydrophilic polymer serving as a water-based lubricant, a disinfectant, and a surfactant. The addition of a hydrophilic polymer forms an anti-corrosive formula for sterilizing, disinfecting, cleaning, and lubricating devices including medical and dental devices where the efficacy of cleaning and sterilizing is enhanced by the addition of a hydrophilic polymer.
Abstract: Methods and composition of an improved water based human tissue lubricant are disclosed. The lubricant includes an aqueous solution of high molecular weight polyethyl oxide, a humectant polyol, a sterilizing agent and may include an anti-sticking agent to prevent tackiness on drying. The formulation is ideally suited for use as a vaginal lubricant, as a shaving lubricant and dermatological emollient and as a contact medium for an ultrasonic transducer.
Abstract: Disinfectant mixture containing water soluble lubricating and cleaning agents comprising a water-based polymer serving as a water-based lubricant, a disinfectant and deionized water.
