Patents Assigned to Medical Vision Research & Development AB.
  • Patent number: 8746547
Abstract: A medical-technical identification device for identifying a sterile product and a method of identifying such a product are provided. The product may be intended for one-time-use only, when connected to a piece of medical equipment. A fixedly mounted information carrier is adapted to deliver or to offer specific product information in a contactless fashion to a reading element connected to the medical equipment. The function of the identification device is improved so that even specific data can be forwarded to the medical equipment such as an infusion-type fluid pump. Thus operation of the pump may be reprogrammed, for example, to change the calibration factor or the operation mode or to change irrigation depending on the patient group to undergo surgery.

  • Publication number: 20130310647
Abstract: A device and method are provided for flushing during endoscopic surgery to solve the problem of debris in the operating cavity. Included is the ability of reversing the inflow and outflow channels of the endoscope to make possible the beneficial cleaning of the ports of the endoscope from debris and e.g. bone particles without a need for removal of the optical instrument during such flushing procedure and consequently avoiding loss of pressure in the body cavity and spillage. Increased flushing occurs by providing a pressure-holding valve in the proximal opening of the double-channel endoscope, where the optical instrument is inserted, making it possible to remove the optical instrument and them enable the full channel of the endoscope sheath to be used for efficient evacuation of debris without loss of pressure in the operating cavity or spillage on the floor.

  • Patent number: 8411266
Abstract: An improved cassette for detecting and quantifying particles in a liquid is provided. A sample volume of a liquid is held by a housing with an inlet and an outlet for the liquid. Light is emitted across the sample volume and reflected creating a doubled length of the optical path in the sample volume. The probability of detecting particles is increased and the measurement is improved. The housing reduces noise due to air bubbles and improves sensitivity of detection of particles in the liquid sample.
