Abstract: A gingival attachment device associated with an endosseous implant, which comprises a cervically located component of a dental implant coated on a gingival facing surface thereof with a biocompatible and non-degradable polymeric scaffold, to which epithelial and connective tissue cells of the gingiva are attachable. The polymeric scaffold may be polyvinylpyrronidole mixed with butyl-methylmethacrylate, silk fibroin fibrous protein polymer mixed with chitosan or with derivatives of chitosan, and polyHEMA and may be coated on all gingival facing surfaces of the cervically located component.
