Abstract: A catheter, probe or a similar device is intended to be inserted into a body cavity. The catheter (1) is double-walled over a substantial portion of its length, at which the inner wall (5) on the outside and/or the outer wall (6) on the inside is provided with longitudinal partitions for forming separate longitudinal passages (3) between the walls (5,6). The passages (3) are perforated from the outside of the catheter by a plurality of capillary holes (4). Into at least some of the passages (3) a fluid, i.e. compressed air or liquid, or a cream or gel-like substance, is intended to be inserted for obtaining a lubrication of the mucous membranes of the body cavity during the insertion. Thus, irritation of the mucous membranes of the body cavity is avoided during the insertion and longer insertion periods are permitted without risk of infection.
Abstract: A suction catheter for sucking body fluids at surgical operations. The catheter comprises an inner and an outer tube manufactured through a coextruding procedure and which form an integrated unit. The outside of the inner tube and/or the inside of the outer tube is provided with longitudinal profilings, which form channels between the inner and outer tube. The channels communicate with the ambient air and provide an air supply to the suction channel when the catheter opening is stopped up.
Abstract: A device for regulating the flow rate in the tube, e.g. in infusion- and transfusion assemblies. The flow rate can be regulated by twisting a portion of the tube by means of a twisting device. The tube comprises at least along the portion of its length which is intended to be twisted a plurality of separate or communicating flow passages. Between said flow passages there are provided distance members arranged about or forming an inner core in the tube about which the tube is twisted and which reduces compression of the tube. When the tube is twisted the free space between said distance members is gradually reduced in the twisted cross-section of the tube and by that a reduction of the flow area is obtained.
Abstract: The present invention discloses an improved suction device and a method of making the same. The improved device comprises a valve means for one time use, particularly in health care field. The valve device is made from two parts which are pushed into one another while bending at least one resilient lip into a shunt conduit or into abutment over the shunt conduit opening to the channel, so that the lip is limited in its movement by another part of the device.
Abstract: A hygienic and contamination-free transfer of blood or corresponding fluids from a cylindrical collecting container, such as a test tube, to a pipette is most desirable for instance at determination of the sedimentation rate of the blood corpuscles; the invention concerns a device for accomplishing such a transfer comprising in combination a tube formed pipette of a compressible, transparent material, a cylindrical body designed to cooperate with the interior of the container as a piston/cylinder arrangement; the cylindrical body being provided at one end of the tube and having an axial through hole adapted to allow communication between the tube and the container.
