Abstract: The patent discloses the use of Hepatocellular Carcinoma Related Protein 1 (HCRP1) as a marker for the efficiency of an anti-EGFR antibody treatment of a tumour patient. If a tumour biopsy sample of the tumour patient reveals an HCRP1 protein or mRNA amount equal to or above the amount in normal, non-tumour tissue, then the tumour patient is eligible for the treatment with an anti-EGFR antibody.
Abstract: The invention relates to a bone screw set for fixing two bone fragments, especially for treating a scaphoid bone fracture or a scaphoid bone pesudoarthrosis, comprising a first bone screw (1) and at least one second bone screw (2). The first bone screw (1) is preferably embodied as a compression screw, and the first and second bone screws (1, 2) comprise interacting engagement means for fixing the second bone screw (2) in a position, in relation to the first bone screw (1), wherein at least part of the second bone screw protrudes from the cross-section of the first bone screw (1).
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for carrying out a percrestale sinus lift, wherein a bore channel is created with the aid of a boring, milling and/or hammering method, the Schneider membrane is lifted from the jaw bone using a flowable medium that is supplied via the opened bore channel, bone replacement material is introduced, a supply line is introduced into the bore channel prior to introducing the flowable liquid and is sealingly fixed in a detachable manner to the bore channel or onto the edge thereof and the flowable medium in introduced through the supply line. The invention also relates to a surgical instrument (1) for introducing a flowable medium for lifting the Schneider membrane from the jaw bone whilst carrying out a percrestale sinus lift.
Abstract: Use of human erythropoietin or a derivative of erythropoietin having the biological activity of human erythropoietin of increasing the expression of frataxin for the production of a pharmaceutical preparation for the treatment of Friedreich's ataxia or for the treatment or prevention of a disease associated with Friedreich's ataxia.
