Abstract: Provided is a bioadhesive composition and device including same, the composition including a polymeric matrix and at least one synthetic bioadhesive polymer carried by the polymeric matrix, the polymeric matrix including at least one synthetic thermoplastic polymer characterized by one or more of (a) an average molecular weight in the range of between 20,000 Da to 90,000 Da; and (b) it includes polycaprolactone (PCL); wherein exposure to heat causes the bioadhesive composition to transform into a non-solid state and to cohesively adhere to a biological tissue upon subsequent cooling thereof. Also provided herein are methods of preparing the composition or device, and use of the composition or device in therapy, e.g. for treating hernia.
