Abstract: A container for disposal of medical waste is provided that comprises a receptacle with an open top. A lid is attached to the receptacle to cover the open top of the receptacle. The lid has an elongated opening sized to permit the introduction of medical waste into the receptacle. A closure flap is connected to the lid to selectively close the lid opening. The closure flap is movable between an open position, a closed position and a locked position. The closure flap is attached to the lid by axial hubs that extend from each side of the closure flap through openings in the side walls of the lid. Covers attached to the outside of the side wall of the lid and engaged with the closure flap axial hub. The container may also include a locking external cabinet that encloses the receptacle and can be mounted to a wall.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and system for aseptically filling of flexible packages containing dry cloth. Such a method may include a first stage that is performed in a non-sterile environment. The first stage may include cutting a first substantially dry cloth to a predetermined size; inserting the first cloth into a flexible package; sealing a first end of the flexible package; and sterilizing the flexible package. The method may also include a second stage performed in a sterile environment. The second stage may include filling the flexible package with a medical solution such that the substantially dry cloth absorbs at least a portion of the medical solution; and sealing the open end of the flexible package.
Abstract: One or more microfiber sheets (1701,1802,2003,2004) are joined together at a spine (1702) to define a microfiber booklet (1700). The microfiber sheets can join together at the spine by stitching. The microfiber sheets can be manufactured from microfiber textile materials. The microfiber sheets can each be selectively movable about the spine like the pages of a book. The microfiber sheets can include alphanumeric indicia or indicators and graphical illustrations depicting objects to be cleaned by each microfiber sheet.
Abstract: Disclosed is a wound treatment that includes collagen and a gelatin-reducing agent. Also disclosed is a wound dressing including a substrate, collagen, and a gelatin-reducing agent. The collagen and gelatin-reducing agent may be present in any suitable a weight ratio relative to one another, such as a weight ratio of about 0.25:1 to about 4:1 with respect to one another. Also disclosed is a method for promoting wound healing including administering collagen and a gelatin-reducing agent to a wound in need of treatment.
