  • Patent number: 8944107
Abstract: An opening device for opening a closed fluid container comprises a housing having a first chamber (1) for receiving the fluid container (3) and a second chamber (2) having an outlet (13). A part (6) of the fluid container that can be separated is arranged in the second chamber. A rotary drum (8) is rotatably supported in the second chamber. Said drum can be rotated from a starting position into a separating position in which it separates the separable container part from the fluid container. The rotational axis of the rotary drum is disposed at an angle to the connecting axis between the first and second chambers. A system for mixing at least two components uses such an opening device and a mixing container (18) having a connecting piece (19), to which the opening device is removably connected to establish a fluid connection.

  • Patent number: 8936391
Abstract: The static mixer has a coupling section and a mixer housing in which mixer elements are arranged consecutively in the flow direction so as to be offset relative to one another by an angle, and are designed so as to apply an alternatingly directed rotation to the mixed material during the mixing operation. A mixer element has two transversal walls that are divided into sectors, the first transversal wall comprising sectors that are separated by an inflow separating wall directed to the inlet, and a separating wall directed to the outlet, the transitions between the sectors and the separating wall forming respective breakaway edges, the separating wall being arranged at an angle relative to the inflow separating wall, and the second transversal wall, which is divided into sectors, having an outflow separating wall directed to the outlet. Such a mixer allows a more efficient mixture particularly of very quickly reacting components and is also suitable for small dimensions as used in medicine.

  • Patent number: 8915413
Abstract: A device for opening an ampoule (3) comprises a hollow cylindrical housing (11) having an interior for accommodating the ampoule (3) and a rotary element (12) having a proximal section (121), to which a break-off section (124) extending in a distal direction is connected to. The break-off section (124) is flexible in a radial direction and is pivotably connected to the proximal section (121) in the radial direction. The rotary element (12) is rotatable relative to the housing (11) about the longitudinal axis. The housing (11) has a first guiding structure (119) for pressing the break-off section (124) inward during a rotation of the rotary element so that the break-off section (124) exerts a radial shear force on an ampoule head (33) of an ampoule (3) to break the ampoule head (33) off of the ampoule body (31).

  • Patent number: 8840593
Abstract: A discharge apparatus for discharging a product having compressed gas support comprises a container (1) having a discharge opening (12) and a pressure element (2), which is mounted displaceably in the container (1). A counterpressure element (13) is provided on the container (1) and is used to advance the pressure element (2) into the container in order to absorb a developing counterpressure when pressure is applied onto the pressure element (2). A compressed gas device (5, 7, 8) dispenses compressed gas in the region of the discharge opening (12), and comprises a valve (6) and a valve actuating device (14) to control the compressed gas dispensing. The actuating device (14) is provided on the counterpressure element (13) to ensure that when discharging the product from the container, at the same time the compressed gas device can be actuated by applying pressure onto the pressure element, whereby compressed gas exits the discharge opening at the same time as the fluid product.

  • Publication number: 20140252044
Abstract: This invention relates to a discharge device of the dispenser gun type, which is suitable in particular for discharging semi-solid materials such as e.g. bone replacement materials. The discharge device comprises an adapter (400) which is removably attached to a main body (110) of the discharge device. A fastening structure for attachment of a container (300) is formed on the adapter substantially along a proximal direction (C) contrary to the feed direction (A). As a result various types of containers can be fastened to the machine without the need to change the mechanism of the device. The container can be provided on both ends with identical external threads and can be closed by closure caps in order to enable intuitive handling. In order to improve access to points which are difficult to reach, the container may be in the form of a curved pipe or may be formed flexibly. The piston rod (200) of the discharge device is then also formed flexibly.

  • Publication number: 20140098629
Abstract: A device is proposed for low-bubbling mixing and discharge of a product. The device comprises a housing (10) which delimits a reservoir for the product. In the reservoir, a mixing element (23) is moveable in order to mix the product. A piston (40) delimits the reservoir in the proximal direction and is displaceable into the distal direction in order to discharge the product from the reservoir. In order to force gases out of the reservoir and thereby prevent bubble formation, the device has a spring element (50) which loads the piston with a spring force in the distal direction.

  • Patent number: 8590747
Abstract: A dispensing appliance for a double cartridge comprises a housing for receiving multiple components and a rotatable portion having a thread, the two parts cooperating in such a manner that by rotating the rotatable portion, a multiple plunger acting upon the pistons in the housing is continuously displaceable relative to the housing in the dispensing direction. To this end, the housing is configured to comprise at least two adjacent storage containers, and the thrust force of the rotatable portion is directly transmitted to a multiple plunger. The rotatable portion may have an internal thread and the double plunger a feed flange with a corresponding external thread, in order to actuate the latter in the axial direction upon rotation of the rotatable portion. This arrangement allows dispensing even highly viscous materials with little manual force under high pressure in a precisely metered manner.
