Abstract: A self-adjusting clamping system top capture and hold a recoil lug extending outwardly from a bolt style receiver of a firearm. At least a lower portion of the receiver and the recoil lug are received into a chassis having a recess. The chassis is configured to receive an anvil block confronting the rear surface of the recoil lug. The chassis is configured to receive a tightening system confronting the front surface of the recoil lug. The anvil block has a front surface that contacts and confronts the rear surface of the recoil lug. The anvil block also has a rear surface that is outwardly rounded. The tightening system is at least partially wedge-shaped having a front surface that is angled and a rear surface that contacts and closely confronts the front surface of the recoil lug.

Abstract: A lock-up system for a firearm comprising a wedge assembly having a top wedge member and a bottom wedge member, each having complementary inclined surfaces; a barrel nut that is configured to receive an outer portion of an upper receiver; and a handguard that is configured to receive the barrel nut and the combined wedge assembly within a lower lip of the handguard. The wedge assembly may include an optional assembly screw and a locator pin where the top wedge member and bottom wedge member are tightly joined to each other via the assembly screw and the locator pin. In use, the lock-up system is used to join the handguard and barrel nut to a corresponding upper receiver with little to no play between the handguard and the upper receiver such that the connection between the two via the wedge assembly is intended to be permanent.

Abstract: An integrated leveler assembly in combination with a rail portion for an upper receiver and a handguard, where the upper receiver and handguard are core components of a modular rifle assembly. The integrated leveler assembly is configured to fit within a slot formed between the two aligned end-to-end rail portions such that the integrated leveling assembly may not extend above the combined rail portions and the rail portions form a single aligned rail platform. The integrated leveler assembly includes a liquid-filled level vial that forms a bubble, a level vial barrel receiver, and fasteners to secure the integrated leveler assembly to the two rail portions of the rail platform. The integrated leveler assembly may include an extension spring, guide slot, lock pin, and cam lock, along with a separate barrel that axially receives the level vial receiver with an extension spring between the level vial receiver and the barrel.
