    Abstract: A network which is suitable for the distribution of signals such as video and audio is disclosed. A second network is overlaid on an existing LAN to provide audio and video functionality, without further loading the capacity of the LAN. Switching of the video and audio signals is provided by a switchbox, controllable from the LAN via the server. The second network may be a simple UTP arrangement.
