  • Patent number: 7303163
Abstract: A yarn feeder system (1) includes a plurality of yarn feeders combined into one group (8). In the trial mode, the yarn feeders operate in an individually tension-controlled manner on the basis of a specified yarn tension value. The yarn feed quantities or yarn speeds that result from this at the various yarn feeders are reported to a central unit. From the reported yarn speeds, the central unit calculates a group average and sends this to the yarn feeders as a specified value for subsequent operation. As a result, the individual yarn feeders can subsequently operate in the purely positive mode. Moreover, the central unit can receive signals that characterize both the machine speed (rpm) and pattern signals, on the basis of which the yarn feeders of the particular group that is to respond at that time are switched on and off or speeded up or slowed down.

  • Patent number: 7237742
Abstract: The yarn feeder device (1) of the invention has one or more yarn feeler levers (26), which are movably supported on the housing (2). The yarn feeler lever (26) is movable between an operating position I and a response position II. In the operating I, its crossbar (28) which forms the yarn feeler means is approximately in the same line as yarn guide elements, such as the struts (19, 23) of yarn guide bails (18, 22). Somewhat above its operating position I, the yarn feeler lever (26) meets a stop, past which it is not moved by the yarn (8). To improve the accessibility to the yarn guide elements (19, 23) particularly when yarn is being inserted and threaded in, the stop of the yarn feeler lever (26) is embodied as yielding. The yarn feeler lever (26) can therefore be moved upward manually past the stop on its lower end (28), in order to open up the space enclosed between the yarn guide elements (19, 23).

  • Publication number: 20060231662
Abstract: A yarn feed system for a textile machine having a clamp for fastening to a mounting ring (4) of the machine. Contact pins are disposed on the clamp (3) and serve the purpose of piercing the insulation of a flat multi-cord cable (17) retained on the machine ring (4). For positionally correct orientation of the flat multi-cord cable (17) before and during the insulation-piercing operation, a guide element (37) is used, which is supported movably on or at the clamp. In the vertical direction, it is preferably retained by a spring arm (49). On its flanks, the flat multi-cord cable (17) preferably has grooves, which can likewise serve to orient the flat multi-cord cable positionally correctly before and during the insulation-piercing operation. The tips of the contact pins are located in the grooves and thereby bring about the alignment of the flat multi-cord cable (17 or 54).

  • Patent number: 6749342
Abstract: The bearing device is formed of a bearing seat, a roller bearing, and a squeeze element. The squeeze element rests over a large surface area on the outer ring of the roller bearing and rests only regionally on corresponding regions of the bearing seat. The regions are preferably linear or striplike and are oriented substantially axially. This facilitates the insertion and removal of the roller bearing into and out of the bearing seat and prevents rotation of the outer bearing ring even if the bearing seats are provided with relatively generous tolerances.

  • Patent number: 6637693
Abstract: A yarn feeder having one or more yarn feeler levers which rest on the yarn with a force which in the desired position of the lever, i.e. with a correct yarn run, is small. If the lever is pivoted out because the yarn tension is decreased or the yarn has broken, the force with which the lever rests on the yarn increases. This is achieved in the illustrated yarn feeler by a relief device which partially compensates for the weight of the lever and provides a compensating force as a function of the pivot angle. The compensating force preferably decreases with an increase in further pivotal movement of the lever.

  • Patent number: 6568620
Abstract: A yarn feeder has a yarn feed wheel, which preferably comprises ceramic or is coated with a corresponding material. The yarn feed wheel, because of the choice of its material or its shaping, has improved long-term operation properties. The geometry and/or the material has low susceptibility to wear. This is attained by means of ceramic surfaces and/or the combination of a conical, continuous yarn inlet surface with adjoining striplike bearing faces in the yarn storage region and a continuous, that is, uninterrupted surface in the yarn payout region; the surfaces are shaped such that the yarn, along its way from the inlet region into the payout region, sweeps over the corresponding surfaces over the entire axial course. The striplike supporting or bearing of the yarn in the yarn storage region is attained by suitable shaping of the yarn feed wheel in the yarn storage region. Openings or slits or the like in the yarn feed wheel are not necessary but may be provided.
