Patents Assigned to MENTIS INC.
  • Patent number: 11263335
Abstract: A system and a method are provided for integrating a sensitive data discovery engine (SDDE), a data anonymization engine (DAE), a data monitoring module (DMM), and a data retirement module (DRM) and managing sensitive data security across its lifecycle. The SDDE determines sensitive data in similar and variant data sources and applications, identifies their operating application codes, and generates sensitive data discovery intelligence (SDDI). The system generates and distributes one or more templates including the SDDI with metadata, discovery results, and data security rules to the DAE, the DMM, and the DRM deployed on each data source.

  • Patent number: 11227068
Abstract: A system including a data retirement engine (DRE) and a method are provided for retiring sensitive data. The DRE receives a sensitive data map generated by a sensitive data discovery engine (SDDE) integrated to the DRE. The sensitive data map includes locations of sensitive data of different data types in multiple data stores. The DRE generates tokens for operational data from the sensitive data map based on selectable data classifications using one or more tokenizers that desensitize the sensitive data, while retaining transactional data. The DRE determines candidates from the operational data in an entirety of a target data store for the tokenization based on rules adjustably configured based on predetermined criteria. The DRE tokenizes the candidates using the tokens on the target data store and facilitates detokenization using a soft delete mode and deletion of the tokens using a hard delete mode.

  • Patent number: 10671750
Abstract: A method and a sensitive data discovery engine (SDDE) are provided for discovering substantial sensitive data in source systems spanning across similar and variant data sources and applications. The SDDE configures a scanning pathway for scanning data based on a predefined or configurable unique data classification. The scanning pathway defines a sequence of one or more match operations including master data field, dictionary, code, pattern and exact data matches to be performed on the data for the unique data classification. The SDDE executes the match operations in the scanning pathway on the data based on a scan level, scores the data, and determines sensitive data. The SDDE generates a sensitive data discovery map report including locations of the sensitive data and discovery metadata including information of users and programs that access the sensitive data, generated by inspecting application codes, for use in downstream data protection and governance operations.
