  • Patent number: 5368188
Abstract: The present invention relates primarily to folded fabric products, such as baby wipes, hand wipes, fabric softener sheets, and the like. Folded individual sheets include a visual indicator, such as a line of contrasting color, at the location of the sheet which should be removed first by the user. In a preferred example, folded baby wipes include moistened, non-woven fabric, folded in such a way that the visual indicator is located at the top of each folded sheet. A plurality of sheets can be stacked in a tub or container. Removal of one sheet will present the indicator of the next lower.

  • Patent number: 4649695
Abstract: A method and apparatus for producing liquid impregnated fabric wipes and packaging the wipes in a container. Fabric material in sheet form is initially passed through a folder to fold the side edge of the sheet, and the folded sheet then travels over a pair of liquid impregnating tubes where liquid is discharged from slots in the tubes against opposite faces of the folded sheet material. After impregnation with the liquid, several sheets are placed together in superimposed form and cut into short lengths to form wipes. The wipes are supported along their side edges by two pair of cooperating endless conveyor belts and as the wipes move along the conveyor, a reciprocating platen moves downwardly between the spaced belts to eject the wipes from the belts onto a conveyor or pack the wipes into a container.

  • Patent number: 4649910
Abstract: An orthopedic stocking, comprising a tubular elastic sheath having closed ends and formed with a fenestration adjacent a first of said ends. The stocking is folded in a manner such that the second closed end is drawn through the sheath and projects through the fenestration in the first end to provide overlapping sections. The overlapping sections are then reverse folded to form an outer cuff disposed outwardly of the overlapping sections. To apply the stocking to an extremity, such as a leg, the toe is inserted into the closed second that projects through the fenestration, and the cuff is unrolled upwardly along the limb. After the cuff is unrolled, the corners or ears of the first end are grasped and pulled upwardly to roll the stocking along the limb and the fenestration is sealed to the limb. The stocking provides a sterile seal to the limb to prevent cross contamination.

  • Patent number: 4429789
Abstract: A sponge counter includes a plurality of connected transparent flexible expandable open-topped plastic sponge-receiving bags which are mounted on a support which in turn can be hung from the edge of a kick bucket or the like. The bags are positioned close to the mouth of the kick bucket to provide high visibility of sponges placed therein. In the embodiment disclosed herein, the bags are interconnected in accordian-like fashion and the bag support is slotted to slip down over the kick bucket rim so that the counter assembly and bags extend radially out from the bucket wall. The slot is oriented so that the hanging counter assembly is positioned horizontally. The assembly is collapsible for easy disposal.

  • Patent number: 4333267
Abstract: A protective sleeve for plants or flowers composed of a pair of sheets of material which are joined together along their side edges to form a tapered tubular sleeve to house the plant. At least one of the sheets is formed of porous, spun bonded synthetic fibrous material to permit circulation of air within the sleeve and enable the plant to be watered directly through the sleeve. The sleeve, due to the use of the spun bonded fibrous sheet, has substantial strength so that the plant can be lifted and handled by grasping the upper end of the sleeve.

  • Patent number: 4292180
Abstract: A milk filter sock composed of a folded sheet of spun bonded, randomly oriented, continuous, synthetic fibers. The longitudinal edges of the sheet are joined together by an ultrasonic bond, and one pair of end edges of the folded sheet are also joined by an ultrasonic bond to form an open-end tubular sock. The spun bonded fibrous material provides increased strength for the sock and more uniform filtering characteristics. In addition, the filter sock has less weight and bulk than prior art filter socks.

  • Patent number: 4014052
Abstract: An apparatus for maintaining a predetermined liquid level within a tank while effecting the continuous addition and removal of liquid within the tank. The apparatus is provided with a housing that mounts directly on a side wall of the tank with the housing extending on both sides of the wall, so that it is partially inside and partially outside the tank. The housing has a first passageway which receives fresh liquid from a pressurized supply and introduces a portion of the fresh liquid into the tank. The remainder of the fresh liquid is provided to a second passageway which is connected between the first passageway and a drain. The second passageway has a constriction near its inlet, which accelerates liquid flowing through it and injects the liquid into the second passageway at a high speed. This produces a region of low pressure in the second passageway. A third passageway is connected to the region of low pressure and it is coupled to the water in the tank.
