Abstract: An apparatus for dispensing small quantities of particles, the apparatus comprises a hopper (20) provided with a sieve (21) at a bottom portion thereof, the hoper defining a powder-containing zone (42) above the sieve which in use contains powder to be dispensed therefrom trough the sieve (21), a support for the hopper, the support holding a portion of the hopper so that the hopper can in use be held above a container into which the dispensed powder is to be received, at least one actuator for delivering impact energy to the hopper for causing powder to be dispensed through the sieve when the hopper receives the impact energy, and a deagglomeration device (58) disposed in the powder-containing zone (42).

Abstract: A medicament container and a method of manufacturing the container housing at least one individual dose of medicament using a carrier having first and second opposing faces and through walls defining a through hole extending between the first and second opposing faces, the method including inserting the carrier into a mould having an element for protrusion into the through hole from the first face so as to define with the through walls a generally cup-shaped space, filling the generally cup-shaped space with a mould material so as to form a generally cup-shaped insert in the through hole, removing the carrier and insert from the mould, depositing an individual dose of medicament in the generally cup-shaped insert, and sealing the medicament and insert in the through hole by sealing first and second sheets respectively with the first and second faces.

Abstract: A pack containing medicament, the pack including a base having first and second opposing faces, at least one recess being formed in the first face, a foil secured to the first face so as to form with the at least one recess a sealed compartment for housing medicament and a substantially rigid member housed in the compartment extending generally from the second face to the first face such that the member can be pushed from the second face so as to rupture the foil outwardly of the compartment at the first face without compressing the medicament and a dispensing device for use with or including such a pack having an actuator for pushing the member from the second face so as to rupture the foil outwardly of the compartment at the first place.
Abstract: A powder delivery device for the delivery into a patient's nasal cavity of a physiologically active agent in powdered form. A closure restricts the unwanted ingress of moisture into the device when the device is not in use. The action of opening or closing this closure may be linked to charging an air reservoir with air and/or moving a fresh powder-containing receptacle into communication with a powder delivery passage.
