  • Patent number: 6264270
Abstract: In a guiding mechanism for a vehicle sunroof (4) consisting of at least two panels (6, 8, 10, 12) with a roof-mounted frame (14) forming an essentially rectangular opening in the roof (3) of the vehicle, and with guiding rails (16, 17) that are positioned along the edges of the frame (14) that are essentially parallel with the driving direction of the vehicle, and with guiding carriages (18, 20, 22, 24) that can be moved back and forth in the guiding rails (16, 17), whereas the panels (6, 8, 10, 12) are connected at both ends with one guiding carriage (18, 20, 22, 24) each, the problem of little space requirement of the guiding mechanism is solved. This is accomplished in that the guiding carriages (18, 20, 22, 24) of two adjacent-positioned panels (6, 8, 10, 12) can be moved into positions in which the guiding carriages (18, 20, 22, 24) are at least partly positioned side-by-side with each other. Thus, a large maximal aperture of the vehicle sunroof is facilitated.

  • Publication number: 20010004561
Abstract: Method of sealing plug-in connection elements of electrical line systems during the foaming in place of such elements that are to be foamed in place in components, in which method the entry point of the electrical lead into the plug-in connection element is sealed by a closure part under the pressure of the foam to be introduced. The closure part consists of an elastically deformable material and has either lips which lie against each other and enclose the lead or a form corresponding to the opening in the plug-in connection element that widens outwards for receiving the lead.

  • Patent number: 6179373
Abstract: In a sun blind for a vehicle roof a sun blind is situated below a panel which is displaceably associated with a roof opening, this blind, when not in use, automatically being wound up on a spool (9) which is mounted roof-side. The blind sheet (8) of the sun blind is guided in a sliding manner using its side edges along guide rails (15) attached laterally in the roof opening. The guide rails (15) and the side edges of the blind sheet (8) are formed in such a manner and engage with one another such that the side edges can be slid easily in the guide rails in the course of opening and closing movements of the sun blind, but cannot be pulled out of the guide rails in a transverse direction to the direction of movement of the blind, whereby the edge areas of the blind sheet are secured against fluttering and vibration movements.

  • Patent number: 6164718
Abstract: A guide link for a slide-and-lift sunroof construction for motor vehicles has a guide slot area, whose slot width is constricted by a resilient or resiliently supported slot wall so that the guide pin inserted into this slot area is subject to increased, movement-impeding friction in the manner of a friction brake.

  • Patent number: 6164717
Abstract: A wind deflector (4) for the roof opening (2) of a motor vehicle which can be closed by a displaceable panel (3), moved out into the displayed operating position by means of spring resistance. An articulated linkage arrangement (15), on which the spring resistance acts, is situated on each display arm (7) of the wind guide profile (6), these supporting the wind deflector (4) on the roof frame (9), whereby, on the one hand, the display force to be overcome during the panel closing displacement is reduced and, on the other hand, a vibration-resistant state is achieved for the wind deflector (4) in the operating position.

  • Patent number: 6155636
Abstract: A sliding interior sunroof panel assembly for covering the lower side of a sliding panel of a sliding sunroof construction and for the ventilation of the vehicle interior with a partially, opened or raised sliding panel consists of a rigid interior roof panel (1) and a ventilation strip (4) attached near the front of the panel. The ventilation strip (4) is set into an opening in the interior roof panel (1) with longitudinal play and latched there in a particular manner so that differing coefficients of thermal expansion of the different materials used for the interior roof panel (1) and the ventilation strip (4) cannot lead to undesirable undulation of the ventilation strip (4) with corresponding temperature conditions since stress is regulated at the latch positions by displacement movements between the latch elements (16, 19). The ventilation strip (4) always, therefore, lies flat against the covered (12, 13), lower visible surface of the sliding interior sunroof panel.

  • Patent number: 6152523
Abstract: An edge gap sealing arrangement for the rigid lid (1) of an automobile sliding roof, which arrangement is moulded on to the peripheral edge of the lid (1) to form a frame body (3). The frame body has an initially free edge strip (5) extending outwards, which is bent over to form a hollow chamber (7). The strip is arranged to be adjustably secured preferably from below to the frame body (3) with its outer edge adjacent to the peripheral edge of the lid. The seal so formed is adjustable as to its cross-section and the width of the hollow chamber (7) so that it is adapted to dimensional variations and irregularities in the edge gap. Preferably at the outer edge of the edge strip (5) an inner surface portion (8) is provided, which after the edge strip (5) has been bent to form the hollow chamber (7), is adjustably secured to a counter-surface (9) of the frame body (3) by means of a clamping profile strip (10). The clamping profile strip (10) engages into a clamping groove (11) of the frame body (3).

  • Patent number: 6034320
Abstract: A roof panel incorporating a solar power generator, for a motor vehicle sunshine roof, has a foamed plastic frame around the edge of the panel and a plurality of crystalline solar cells forming a field of solar cells extending considerably into the region of the frame. Special precautions ensure that the crystalline solar cells, which are susceptible to breakage, are not damaged when foaming around the cover to form the frame. The solar cell field enables good use of solar energy and can be accommodated in a lightweight panel.

  • Patent number: 6024404
Abstract: A control configuration for a vehicle sunroof panel which is adjustable by means of drive cables, whereby the transmission of jolts and vibrations from the drive elements to the panel and vice versa is damped or prevented by the intermediate elastic damping element between the driver elements engaging with the drive cable and guide shoes controlling the movements of the panel. The elastic damping element preferably is a rubber block that is secured to the driver elements such that vibrations and jolts are at least partially absorbed by the rubber block.

  • Patent number: 5746090
Abstract: A drive apparatus (5) is proposed, consisting of a drive casing (12) and a gear casing (19), in which the two casings (12, 19) are screwed to one another in a centered position and to the frame transverse component (2) with the incorporation between them of a plane wall of the front transverse frame portion (2) of a guide frame (1). The drive casing (12), preferably injection moulded in one piece from a wear-resistant, thermoplastics material, guides two drive cables (8, 9) with guide channels (15, 16) slender in the central portion (15) over such a length that the drive cables (8, 9) can emerge at both ends virtually free of lateral pressure from the drive casing (12) and enter the drive cable guides of the frame transverse portion (2). The drive casing (12) makes possible sliding movements of the drive cables guided with low radial clearance without noise caused by joint positions.
