Abstract: A system and apparatus for controlling and measuring the flow of water delivered per transaction of a community water management arrangement, the apparatus having an inlet and outlet, a meter to determine the volume of water delivered and also to adjust data contained in a customer data device, the data device being presentable to an interface for a time period chosen by the customer for a predetermined volume of water, the metering unit and regulator being stopped by removable of the data device or by a management station signal, the management station being capable of receiving information directly from the personal consumer data device and from the personal consumer data device via the apparatus.
Abstract: Use of prepayment mechanisms for alternative energy supply systems and monitoring connected devices. An energy supply system is, for instance, an alternative energy source, such as a photovoltaic array (320) and an overriding prepayment mechanism (312) adapted to control the supply of useable energy (electricity) to a point of use in accordance with predetermined prepayment criteria. The photovoltaic array (320) incorporates, integral therewith, an energy source controller (318) that is in communication with a corresponding controller (316) forming part of the prepayment mechanism (312).
Abstract: Microprocessor-based digital solid-state trip unit (48) generating an inverse time long delay and/or short delay trip by digital simulation of the heating and cooling of a bimetallic strip. A digital value (TETALR), stored in a RAM memory simulates the temperature of the bimetallic strip, this value being incremented when the current exceeds a preset pick-up (ILR) or on the contrary decremented if the current is lower than this pick-up (ILR). Tripping is caused when the stored value (TETALR) exceeds a maximum pick-up (TETAMAX). The microprocessor (48) computes the incrementation factor (DTETAE) in terms of the square of the current.
Abstract: A microprocessor-based digital solid-state trip-unit for processing digital signals derived from analog signals supplied by current sensors. In order to reduce measurement error of the peak value of the signals due to signal sampling, the microprocessor samples a signal latched at the last peak. A countdown timer determines the latching time to include two or three peak values.
Abstract: Solid-state trip unit having a unit (29, 50, 48) for digital processing of signals emitted by current sensors (16). The digital processing system provides the long delay, short delay and instantaneous tripping functions and delivers a tripping order to the relay (14). An analog processing unit (70) is connected parallel with the digital processing unit to transmit an instantaneous tripping order to the relay (14). When the digital processing unit operates, the analog unit pick-up level is higher than the digital instantaneous tripping pick-up and this pick-up is reduced to a lower or equal value, if the digital unit is inactive.
Abstract: The invention concerns a rotating arc switch using a permanent magnet (38) arc blow-out. The permanent magnet is housed inside the fixed contact (16) and is thermally and electrically isolated from it by an insulating layer (46). The permanent magnet (38) is placed against the annular contact (36) surface, very close to the breaking zone, and has a cavity (40) opposite the central opening of the annular surface (36). The magnetic blow-out is combined with a pneumatic blow out by escape of the warmed gases towards an expansion chamber (36).
