  • Patent number: 5921698
Abstract: The invention concerns a mount for panel-shaped components, in particular glass panels, with a base element that penetrates through an opening in the panel-shaped component and immobilize it, and a ball stud that has at its first end a ball element which is rotatably mounted in an opening of the base element which is complementary in form and function, and that can be fastened at its second, opposite end to a support structure, immobilizing the base element. The base element has an axial length such that at least one end of the base element projects out of the panel plane, the opening to receive the ball element being furthermore arranged in the region of that end. The base element has at least two base subelements that can be fastened to one another at their mutually facing radial surfaces in the radial plane of the base element that extends substantially through the center point of the ball element, thus enclosing the ball element.

  • Patent number: 5437136
Abstract: Known lattice girders consist of two structural chord members joined to each other by a so-called lattice snake welded at its points of inversion to said structural chord members. To circumvent this welding, structural chord members 11 are used which comprise mutually opposite longitudinal slots 18 and thereunder a longitudinal chamber 19. The lattice-snake of the prior art is replaced by individual struts 13 evincing an I section and matching the structural chord members 11. The longitudinal ends of the struts 13 are cut at acute angles and parallel to each other. The two flanges 16 of the struts 13 comprise slots 21 at both ends and parallel to the longitudinal ends of the struts 13. Thereby the struts 13 can be snugly inserted into the longitudinal slots 18 and the chamber 19 of the structural chord members 11 wherein they butt each other.

  • Patent number: 5399043
Abstract: In order to lower the number of individual components in joint connection-systems of planar or three-dimensional trusses of members and joints and further to reduce the frictional surfaces when implementing a member connection and to make possible a controlled prestressing force, the pipe members 10 comprise member-endpieces 14 with a borehole 16 passing a tap bolt 12 followed inward by a threaded borehole 17 into which is rotated a prestressing muff 18 with an outer thread. When the tap bolt 12 is screwed into a threaded borehole 13 of a joint-adapter 11, the inside end face of the member-endpieces 14 forms a stop for the head 26 of the tap bolt 12. A non-circular segment 23 with flats 25 to seat a corresponding rotating tool is provided to rotate the tap bolt 12 into a threaded borehole 13 of a joint-adapter 11.

  • Patent number: 5382771
Abstract: To render more economical the manufacture of galvanized bar segments 10 illustratively used for three-dimensional frameworks, the components of the bar segments 10, namely the hollow bar 11 and the end pieces 12, are galvanized before being assembled. The ring welds between the galvanized components 11, 12 are implemented by laser welding. Because of the high energy density of the laser welding beam and on account of the narrow ring-weld seams 18 so formed, a zinc coating 24 supplied from the zinc coats 22 of the adjacent components 11, 12 is created during welding and covers each surface 25 of the ring-weld seams, as a result of which, following welding, the bar segment 10 also is provided with a zinc coating 24 covering the surfaces 25 of the ring-weld seams protecting them against corrosion.

  • Patent number: 5155952
Abstract: A glazing profile strip (1) which has a foot (9) with a toothing (10) for anchoring the strip (1) on a spacer (2) connected to the structure (4) of the building, has a slot (11) in that foot (9). This slot initiates at the outside (12) of the two sealing lips (6) protruding from the foot (9) and first forms a though-like enlargement (13). This enlargement serves for receiving a filler profile strip (17) that is connected to the sealing lips (6) only by thin bridges (18). The slot then continues below that enlargement by forming a narrow portion (14) having a flared mouth (141) and terminates in a larger groove (15). The narrow portion (14) is formed by two ribs opposed to each other which have a lower side (25) formed as an undercut. That side (25) serves as a rest for a head of a replacement filler profile strip which is inserted into the slot. Prior to this insertion, the present filler profile strip (17) is removed by separating its thin bridges (18) from the walls of the enlargement.

  • Patent number: 5074089
Abstract: The sealing device serves for tightly sealing the gap (6) between adjacent elements (1) of the inclined facade or roof against the access of water, by forming several sealing planes (A--A, B--B, C--C, D--D). To this effect a network of sealing pieces is created. These pieces each consist of a lower portion (21) and an upper one (22). The lower portion (21) also acts as a support for the elements and comprises a bearing surface (214) each between two sealing lips (212, 213). The upper portion (22) consists of a metal rail (22) and of a sealing stip (222) which overlaps the rail laterally and rest on the elements. That sealing strip which extends in the slope or direction of the fall comprises two substantially vertical webs (228). These webs form a drainage channel for water that may have penetrated, together with substantially parallel lateral sealing lips (224) which also seal the faces of the elements.

  • Patent number: 4608790
Abstract: To avoid a flimsy arrangement of a roof or outside covering composed of individual plate elements on three-dimensional trussing, and also to produce a solid roof or outside covering, holding spaces are provided on the tops of elongated members of the three-dimensional trussing. The spaces have a smooth cup-shaped cross section, into which the outside edges of plate elements are inserted with their parts which are also in cup-shaped cross section, which serves to hold packing strips. First, plate elements are connected with the elongated members by cover rails with downwardly angled arms, which are fastened by screws to each member, and then packing strips are pressed into the cup-shaped outside edges of plate elements, so that plate elements are attached to members of the three-dimensional trussing with packing, which forms a tight roof or outside covering.

  • Patent number: 4591288
Abstract: A joint connection for space frameworks made of rods and joint members wherein the joint members have concentric threaded bores for receiving threaded bolts for the connection of the rods with the joint members. The required torque is applied by means of screwing tools through non-rotatable but axially slidable drive sleeves on the threaded bolts. The drive sleeves inserted between the rod ends and joint members are also used to bias the threaded bolts so strongly that the bias force is greater than the charges from the outside which have a dynamic effect, in order to avoid the danger of fatigue fractures. For this purpose, each drive sleeve may be formed of three parts which, on the basis of cooperating helical surfaces with suitable relative rotation of the middle part relative to both outside parts, are axially adjustable in opposite directions to axially bias the threaded bolt to lengthen it and therewith to axially bias it.
