  • Patent number: 9520652
Abstract: An antenna element employable singularly or in an array and configured for concurrent RF transmission and receipt on a plurality of frequencies concurrently. The element is formed of conductive material on a substrate by a pair of substantially identical horns extending in opposite directions to distal tips. A cavity formed between the horns narrows to a narrowest point prior to curving. The element is capable of wideband RF communication on any frequency between a low frequency defined by the distance between the distal tips to a highest frequency defined by the narrowest point of the cavity. The antenna is especially well adapted for portable devices such as smartphones where concurrent cellular, Wi-Fi, and bluetooth communications may be accomplished with a single element. A dielectric planar substrate positioned between the antenna element and a tethered device is employable to reduce a spacing requirement therebetween.

  • Patent number: 9490544
Abstract: An antenna array formed of individual electrically connected pluralities of wideband antenna elements. The array features a centrally located rectangular ground plane having a top surface defined by four edges. Each of said pluralities of elements is engaged to a separate substrate which is engaged along one of the four edges. The substrates may be angled to adjust the footprint of the antenna.

  • Patent number: 9343814
Abstract: A broadband antenna element for RF transmission and reception over cellular frequencies. The antenna element is formed of conductive material on a substrate surface of conductive material in the form of a pair of half portions extending in opposite directions to distal tips defining the widest distance of a mouth of a cavity. The mouth converges to reduce in cross-section to a narrowest point at a plurality of different flare angles defined by the edges of the two half portions in between the pair of half portions forming the element. The resulting antenna element radiates and receives a wide band cellular frequencies enabling a single element to serve different providers operating on different frequency bands in the cellular spectrum between 680 MHz to 1900 MHz.
