Abstract: A seal for the frame of an aperture of the body of an automobile, wherein the seal includes a reinforced grip-forming channel section of a U-shaped cross-section in a thermoplastic material, and a tubular sealing element in a resiliently deformable material, which adheres laterally to the outer surface of the channel section of the U-shaped cross-section. Along at least part of the length of the seal corresponding to the location of corners in the aperture frame to be equipped, the tubular element has a length greater than that of the corresponding part of the channel section. The portion of the tubular element of length greater than that of the corresponding part of the channel section being offset laterally with respect to the latter.

Abstract: A device for the installation, on a projecting border (6) of an automobile body frame, of a profile (5a) having a U-shaped cross section including a metal reinforcement jacketed with a resilient material, this device comprising a mallet having a flexible head (4), means (3) for impressing an alternating percussion movement on the head of this mallet and at least one system for guiding the profile (5) capable of bringing the latter in front of that portion of the flexible head (4) of the mallet intended to act on it, this guide system comprising a structure having a U-shaped contour, between the branches (8) of which the profile (5) can be engaged and which can be closed by a movable element capable of substantially joining together the branches (8) of the structure in order to maintain the profile therein.

Abstract: Watertight section for the frame of a movable window of a vehicle, namely an automobile, formed from a resilient material (6) in which is embedded a metal frame (5) includes two adjoining inverted U-shaped parts, one (1) known as a clip, intended to cap a protruding rim (3) of the window frame, while the second U-shaped part (4) known as a runner, is intended to guide and receive the peripheral portion of the movable window in its closed position. The frame (5) of the U-shaped arm of the runner that is intended to be placed facing the exterior of the vehicle juts out laterally from the resilient material and curves toward the outside of this arm, while at the base of this same arm, the resilient material forms a boss (9) below the base of the U, so that a C-shaped ornament (8) can be fastened at right angles onto the section by means of a clip on the above mentioned boss (9) and on the curved protruding part (11) of the frame.

Abstract: The sealing and guiding element comprises an extruded elastomer with metal backing which includes a first U-shaped part forming a grip, suitable to be fitted on the frame of the movable window and a second U-shaped part turned the opposite way round to the first part and acting as a guiding and weathersealing member for the movable window. The first and second parts are joined together by a flexible resilient hinge contained in the elastomer without metal backing. The hinge permits a dual freedom of movement to the second part, on the one hand pivoting in relation to the said first part and, on the other hand, in translation substantially in the plane of movement of the movable window.

Abstract: The invention relates to a profile for a seal comprising a metal reinforcement having a U-shaped cross-section. The reinforcement is sheathed with plastic. At least one virtually inextensible filament is embedded in the plastic in an intermediate zone between the profile and an associated sealing element in the region of the median fiber of the profile. According to the invention, the metal reinforcement is formed by bending a planar reinforcement into the shape of a U. The planar reinforcement comprises a succession of exposed rectangular elements having long sides perpendicular to the plane of symmetry of the U and short sides parallel to this plane of symmetry. The rectangular elements are joined to the contiguous elements by two spacers parallel to the plane of symmetry of the U.

Abstract: The invention relates to a section forming a gripper for an automobile gasket, this section being required to cap a projecting element (2) of the body and comprising a longitudinal metal core (4) of U-shaped cross-section, sheathed in a plastic (5) which, on the faces of the U opposite one another, has projecting parts (9, 10) intended for coming into contact with the lateral faces of the said projecting element (2) of the body.According to the invention, on at least one of the said faces of the U a projecting part is formed by a tubular element (10), inside which is seated at least one longitudinal reinforcing member (11) capable of exerting a constant counterpressure on the inner face of the wall of the said tubular element (10) required to come in contact, by means of its outer face, with the said projecting element (2) of the body.

Abstract: A movable flush window system, especially for a motor vehicle door, comprises two pressed metal panels welded together so as to form a rebate at the periphery of the location for the window on the sides other than that on which the window can be retracted between the panels. The window system further comprises two parallel panes joined together near their periphery by means of a continous spacer fixed to the two opposing faces and defining, with the contiguous outer portions of the panes, a U-shaped profile intended for capping the rebate in order to ensure the guidance and sealed closure of the window.
