  • Patent number: 4112847
Abstract: A warhead with a disintegrating jacket to house several projectiles, in picular splinter projectiles. The projectiles are each equipped with an ignition and backfiring system and fall to earth individually after disintegration of the warhead jacket. They are then fired upwards by means of the backfiring charge ignited by the ignition system, the charge explosive then being detonated. The ignition system of each projectile consists of a time-delay fuze and an impact fuze. The time-delay fuze is initiated when the projectile impacts with relatively soft ground and ignites the backfiring charge after adjusted times differing at least partly for the individual projectiles. The impact fuze, however, effects an immediate ignition of the backfiring charge when the projectile strikes relatively hard ground.

  • Patent number: 4075701
Abstract: A method and circuit arrangement for changing the sensitivity of the measng range in a device employing delta modulation in a navigation system. The device uses an integrator for integrating a measured value from a sensor, a threshold detector following the integrator, a synchronizer responsive to the threshold detector and a pulse transmitter driven by the synchronizer. The pulse transmitter provides a reset pulse with appropriate release time to reset the integrator, the reset pulse being counted by a counter fed to a navigation computer. A switching arrangement at the input of the integrator operates to change the sensitivity or scale factor. Switching is controlled by logic circuitry which responds to the level of the measured value as well as the output of the integrator. The reset pulse release time is also employed as a switching criterion.

  • Patent number: 4073452
Abstract: The pressure drop in a pressurized cabin, for example, in an aircraft cab is delayed following the occurrence of an emergency resulting from a door failure, by a mat which has a low air permeability. Such a mat is mechanically secured to the cabin structure to cover the openings in the cabin or body on the inside thereof, for example, to cover a door opening in flight. The air permeability of these mats is such that a pressure equalization is delayed by a time safe enough for humans, whereby the pressure equalization rate does not exceed approximately 2.4 PSI/sec.

  • Patent number: 4065303
Abstract: In the disclosed method of forming shaped objects by a powder-metallurgical rocedure, a dummy or sample of a meltable material, such as wax, is prepared which has generally the configuration of the ultimate shaped object to be produced. A self-supporting layer is then electroformed on the dummy object to enclose the latter. The dummy object of wax or the like is then removed by melting, whereby a hollow space or cavity is formed which is defined by the layer and which corresponds to the configuration of the dummy object. Metallic powder of a type used in powder-metallurgical procedures is then filled into this space under vacuum and is subjected to hot isostatic pressing or compaction to densify and compact the powder, thereby to form the ultimate shaped object. The electroformed layer is thereafter removed and, if necessary, the object is further finish-worked in any suitable manner.
